I am still not convinced by some of the batting - we do seem to rely on our bowlers a lot and even Boycott said we got lucky with the toss.

    Still better than losing!

What a great European Athletics Championship - we trounced the Germans and the Russians - I guess having the Commonwealth Games has brought our guys to a peak at the right time

Things should be different in the ODIs and T20. The only warm-up India have before that is against Middlesex. Given the form of Middlesex in limited overs competitions this season, if India lose that, they really are in trouble especially as Eoin Morgan probably won't be playing for the Panthers.

Having watched the remarkable gold rush at the athletics yesterday, it was good to see the winners thanking the team of support persons who helped them to their success. A great deal of the money in the sport comes from the UK Lottery fund who help pay for the trainers etc as well as the performers.

Has the question been asked about what would happen to the system if Scotland voted for independence? Being outside the UK would it need to set up it's own lottery and because of numbers be short of the sort of support now enjoyed? It would be a shame to see athletics become the poor man as has happened to football.

Watching the F1 in Belgium I begin to really dislike Rosberg - he seems to be a racer in the darker mould of Schumaker - seems to know how a little nudge will harm his opponent more than himself. Maybe I am just being a bit paranoid but he always seems to "get
    one over" on Hamilton

Im glad someone else said that before I did. There is racing hard, but there was no reason for him to keep pushing at Hamilton that early when there is a whole race ahead of them. They could work together to consolidate their position and come the end of the race (last 10 laps) they can maybe then compete a bit. But why risk it for God sake.

Yeah, I realised at HT I had forgotten. I need to set my reminder again.

I get the impression they are developing a real dislike for each other and the team dont seem to be helping the matter at all. If I were them I would give Rosberg a good talking too. He cost them a potential 1-2 with a silly move.

What really amazed me was the booing for Rosberg when he stood on the podium. If it had been Silverstone I might not have been so surprised, but it wasn't. The team boss suggested that words would be said.

Just seen on Sky sport that it seems rosberg did that deliberately - and hamilton says he admitted it.

Saw the Ebosse thing on the news too - idiotic behaviour

Mercedes say they will let things cool before they decide what to do - what is the betting they order the twonot to "race" each other - and that therefore Rosberg will be steered towards the title. Shameful. FIA should take action against Rosberg's at best "rookie" driving - deduct him 50 points and see if he does that again.

Are Britain on something - we are now trouncing the rest of Europe at the European Swimming games - beating Russia, Germany and Italy !!

Vettel got the same treatment - maybe the fans worldwide don't like smug arrogant Germans?

I read the RTL (German media) website on Sunday before Mercedes had the team meeting and that basically stated that Rosberg had done it deliberately. There may be something to what Coulthard said about the German drivers being popular in their own country if they are seen to be working class. Schumacher came from a working class family, but Vettel came from a relatively well-off family and wasn't as popular as Schumi. Rosberg holds dual nationality with Finland (even competing under the Finnish flag earlier in his career) and spent a lot of his youth in Monaco, where he still lives.
