Let us know your thoughts on this debacle and the day in general, fans seemed quiet to me!! Did you witness any budgies take a good kicking?
It was the quietist most limp EA Derby I have ever been to at Portman Road. Spanish I am the first to admit that my view of MM has changed and after watching the humiliation at Crawley and again yesterday, the time has come for MM to move on before he destroys the good will he has gained from keeping us up! The dire football you could accept so long as the results were good enough but now the results just aren't good enough! I was expecting that in the summer we would add one or two good quality attacking options to the squad and to enhance the areas we badly needed to strengthen. A proven Right Back, some attacking midfielders another decent Striker and a replacement for Cresswell. What do we end up with? A young wet behind the ears kid as a winger, Some Hull reject who even Leeds sent back and another big useless lump as a Striker who is Murphy Mark II. At the same time he has shipped out Taylor who is the only creative player we have besides Goldy, Wordsworth who shows some creativity at times and fails to address the desperate need for a proper right back! No money at all has gone into the team even after West Ham paid cash for Cresswell whilst at the same time other teams in this league have invested into the quality of their squads. We are going backwards again and yesterday was the final straw. To lose to an average Budgie team in our own backyard is embarassing and totally unacceptable and for MM to then down play its significance is just a kick in the teeth to the PR faithful. I just hope now that Fulham come after MM so that he can take his dour negative football to another team and we then finally bring in an up and coming manager with new ideas! Yes Spanish I have finally begun to see the light and if truth be told the Crawley game is the one that made me realise that MM and that invisible clown Evans are dragging this great club into a black hole of despair. And while we are on the subject of Evans he recently said that he has many offers to buy the club on a weekly basis! All I will say is that please Mr Evans, the next time the phone rings, please accept the offer and just do one!
Warky i wasn't asking you to agreee with my opinion or looking for bragging rights, as much as i thick MM is an arogant prick, i would rather we were top and everyone still loved him, than be the joke that we are!! I just wondered what the regular posters on here madr of it all, it has been very quiet apart from the 6 finger brigade!! Its the fans like yourself that i feel sorry for, people who pay a big chunk of their hard earned cash to go watch ****e!! Its easy for me, it costs about a fiver a month for player but for you guys it must be infuriating!! I must admit, as you well know, i never wanted MM in the first place but you guys were right that he was the man to keep us up but then as myself and ptc said 'he is not the man to take us forward' which also seems correct, sadly!!
We dont know what goes on between the scenes but to not spend any money in the Summer on strengthening the squad is just plain negligence on both the owner and MM. Just how he thinks that we will do even better this year with the same players is just beyond belief! In fact our squad of players is far weaker than last season while other teams have strengthened their squads so the net effect is that we will be a lot weaker this year! It isnt fcuking rocket science is it! Supporting my beloved Ipswich is getting more and more difficult believe me! We have all had to put up with Ten years of mediocrity and under this owner all we can expect is more of the same.
Wheres Welly, Hoppers, Westy, Ptc, Tractorbhoy, SCOG, Jonah, Nuggets, KOPR, Stretchy etc etc Everyone has gone missing, what are you guys thinking about this at the moment, do you think MM will turn it around or have you had enough? What were your thoughts on yesterday?
IMO for what it's worth....we have had a slow start to the season which is nothing new, yesterday was disappointing a poor display without the usual hardwork and toil that we seem to rely on these days the ball never seemed to fall for us but I suppose you make your own luck, the budgies did leave a toe in a few times but I suppose they have the extra to spare. As for moving forward personally I think it's to early to be calling for changes or to say that these players can't improve on last season as we have players that should get better as they mature ie. Smith, Hyam and even Goldy and others that with more games will get better and more confident ie. Mings and Henshall. Am I happy with the start ,no....is it time to panic ,no....do I understand others moaning ,yes. These are just my opinions.
Oh for the record, i am in the 'time for a change now, before its too late' camp. I know that has come as a shock to you all!!;-)
Im prepared to give him up til the end of the Transfer Window to sort it out but if no new players come in then I will be calling for his head along with ME!
Yeah ok weighty, predictable i know!! Oh but something that may shock you is i dont want Olli toreplace MM!! Fed up with your older type manager, we need some fresh ideas, whether that be young or foreign!!
The biggest annoyance for me is that MM has brought in some players but we are yet to see them! Parr needs to come in for Mings (Mings is not ready to be a regular starter for us yet), the new keeper Baloaski(?) needs to replace Gerken because for me he has had an awful start to the season. I believe Stewart and Henshall were bought on the basis that they were the creative midfield players we need to make chances but we are yet to see much/any of them! I am starting to doubt MM, my only hope is that Mick knew we had a tough start to the season so has tried to set up with a mostly unchanged team to avoid stupid defensive mistakes that can occur when players haven't played with each other before (Which didn't work as that is exactly what happened). Over the next few games I would expect to see more of the new players he has signed or for him to bring in (and play!) some creativity which we are crying out for.
I am sorry to say that I'm now firmly in th MM out camp. After a 500 mile round trip to watch that garbage and then have to listen to that pitiful interview that MM gave ( he really doesn't get it ) he's gotta go I was one of his biggest fans but I guess I can truly say I was conned I bought into this " we can do it rubbish" there is only one direction we are headed for. A long dark misery of a season lays ahead AGAIN
I can only sympathise with you mate. I had a 200 odd mile round trip yesterday and it felt like I had been punched in the guts on the drive home! It's all very depressing and I just can't see any sign of improvement unless we invest in some decent players! The Crawley debacle was the last straw for me.
Great shout Weighty! Yorkie, credit to you mate, long and expensive trip to be let down big time, its not as if you were even entertained!!
