Certainly uncompromising , great feet and switches play easily , although only viewed on you tube that seems to back up a few commentators opinions of him .

 

After watching our midfield visibly wilt second half yesterday,and with no suitable replacement on the bench,I would think the Stambouli transfer in would be our number one priority before the window closes.

I'd be surprised if this went our way. I think his connection to us has always been about other options - his to European teams and our to give Soton the impression we weren't going to pay an inflated price for Cork.
If he come I'd be very happy as he seems to fit the bill for what we need - yesterday as v Villarreal our midfield was amateur to say the least. Ki held it together in the first half and Siggy had his moments and that was about it.

TBF he has had a decent game and a half (as has Siggy) - a season is 38 + cups .... so there's time

As things stand we still need a defensive midfielder to command a starting place and / or battle with Leon for it, and a left back. So our priorities at the end of last season have only been met in bringing in a second striker as back up for Bony.

 

We have also added a world class CB to our ranks and improved (so far at least) in the goalkeeping position.

 

At the end of last season we had Canas (and still do technically) as well as Leon. Whilst at left back, we had Ben and Taylor. So were these 2 positions really a priority "at the end of last season".

I agree that given Canas is now "allegedly" persona non grata, we need someone in that position to challenge Leon, and clearly we now need to replace Ben.

 

Sorry, meant right back as all thought Tiandelli was not worth having & Canas (who I thought did well for Laudrup) seemed to 'leave' the club without telling anyone in Feb.
Although we had players for those positions they were no where good enough (Tiendalli may prove us wrong if given a chance) and the priority was to bring players in to compete with and take over from an ageing Leon & Angel.
However, IMHO we do now need a left back.
