Last season we had chances, but didn't take them. Result just the same, but I would always prefer lots of chances.
No, not at all at this stage. Every team has games like that every season. Shame it was the first home game of the season both for the fans and Koeman. The issue with Pellé is trying to see the potential for improvement. I mean I guess it's there, but there's not a massive amount on show yet. Let's see how it develops.
Yes true. I don't think Tadic is any less than Lallana at all (referring a couple of previous posts on this thread).
Was at the game today. Generally poor attacking from both teams, however defensively we look reasonable and the shape of the team is pretty good. It's surely blinding obvious to Koeman that we need a direct forward or wide player though.
With all Pelle hair gel his mop still moved better than he did today Ok now to be positive big Vic,Tadic,Bertrand played well plus a clean sheet.
Yes, not quite youtube was it! He has the strength, he needs to use it more and get a bit battered. Rickie is a subtle player, deceptively so, but he's gone! Koeman seems to think that he can create a lot, but the one time I remember him getting into a deeper Rickie position he looked a bit clueless. But, I don't want to be too harsh, he is what we have, and I want him to succeed.
I don't think we can solely blame Pelle. The front three/four have not clicked yet and much of the time Pelle has been fairly isolated. After all when we were missing one of our front three last season we struggled and we are missing all of them currently!
True, and the delivery wasn't always great today either. Shame he couldn't open his account, as it would at least boost his confidence.
Forster was excellent Fonte was excellent Morgan was very good Tadic looked very bright Vic did well We played a dull WBA team and unfortunately didn't have enough to undo a stubborn team. Saw enough to be ok. I was disappointed with Pelle, but more disappointed with the idiot fans who got on his back; brainless.
It was a fairly poor attacking performance from both teams and Pelle hasn't been great in either game so far but there's not much else you can say at this point. Too early to say this confirms anything.
Yeah, strikers thrive on confidence and people groaning at his home debut...well... I hope he's not to become this season's Guly.
