Who will get the Cotterill seal of approval? Here is my guess. Fielding Little Flint El Abd Williams Agard Smith Pack Freeman Baldock Wilbraham
Same team that started last Saturday, Agard won't start unless Wilbs is knackered or Sam is on his way out
Can't see Pack starting over Elliott ---------------Fielding------- little --Ayling------Flint------Williams ---------------Smith---------------- ------Agard--Elliott--Freeman--- --------Baldock----Wlibreham---
I'd go for the same team who started against Colchester last Saturday, but I'd make sure I gave Agard 30 minutes game time as a sub
Bristol City: Fielding, Ayling, Flint, Williams, Little, Elliott, Smith, Freeman, Cunningham, Wilbraham, Baldock. Subs: Richards, El-Abd, Bryan, Pack, Wagstaff, Emmanuel-Thomas, Agard.
Adequate result but only adequate The likes of Preston, Peterborough, Sheff Utd, Barnsley and Doncaster all won today Cant help but feel that teams really going for promotion will go to places like Rochdale and come away with 3 points Need to sort out the defence. If you don't concede you cant lose
I am pleased with a point because one point from any away match is the worst we should be aiming for. On the other hand I am disappointed that we could neither hang on to a 1-0 lead, nor could we get the crucial second goal. Defensively we did reasonably with Flint and Fielding getting very good mentions on the radio commentary. But we still conceded after some ten minutes of relentless Rochdale pressure. This tells me that we are still short of defensive solidarity but also lack the ability to work the ball out at such times to someone who can hold on to it for long enough for the defence to regroup. And one goal conceded would not have made one iota of difference if our much vaunted attackers had got more than one. Overall I am content but could easily have been delighted if…........
They say win at home and draw away, and effectively we are there with 2 wins and 2 draws. An average of 2 points a game which would give us 92 if the same form was replicated all season- Enough to finish top 2- I think most of us would have taken that before the season started.- We have no right to think that we can go to Rochdale and expect 3 points- They are still on a roll from coming up and a draw there probably isn't a bad result- From what I understand, it could have been worse but for a great save by Fielding in injury time- We are not the finished article yet and we remain unbeaten. We have played 2 good sides in Sheff U and Orient, getting 4 points. Overall, I am pretty happy and we still sit tonight in 4th place.
Not going to lie but our last 3 performances doesn't strike me as a team that's going to get promoted from this division.. I actively dislike the 3-5-2 and feel sorry for Cunningham and little because they are literally going nowhere the whole game. I feel we have a great team that could easily play 4-3-3, 4-2-3-1 and tear teams apart in this league..Baldock, Freeman, Agard and JET is a great strike force in championship level. also, I think cotts is being a bit stubborn about his subs, the game was crying out for agard, a bit of pace to test the dale defence.. but alas.. a draw is better than nothing..
When we won promotion with GJ we won our first game then lost the next three,so there is no reason to think we are or aren't going to do well overall, this team needs time to gel and get used to this formation first.
