There's no doubt this place is worse off without the people who've left, permanently or temporarily. Shame.
I note that before today, you last posted on the Saints boards in Nov 2013. Any particular reason that you have suddenly taken such a disinterest?
How the hell has this dragged on longer than the ban itself? Can anyone here provide any proof that the bans weren't the end result of a series of warnings/infringements by those users? If you can't then i suggest we accept the mods decision and reasoning on the matter as i cant recall them ever being biased, draconian or incompetent in the past. If some users feel they can't post on here anymore then that's a shame but luckily moderation issues aren't decided by popular opinion which would be instantly skewed to favor some and pariah others.
Well, you seem to be saying that although you haven't posted for 9 months, recent events have motivated you to make a few posts and then announce that you are going to stop posting. Just a bit confusing really!
It would have been a lot easier to prove that there were warnings, other than the "Children, please" post. By all accounts, there weren't. By the way, Joe didn't post again after "Children, please", but was still banned........so......y'know.
Basically I thought I'd come along and re-engage in some enjoyable conversations of similar nature to what I had enjoyed back in the day. Sadly things have deteriorated to such a point that I changed my mind pretty quickly. I was willing to start posting again, but not as the forum is now. It's a husk of what it used to be. So I was going to come back, but after seeing the wreckage of this former stronghold, I've decided against it. Sorry for confusing you. Yours sincerely, A fellow Saints fan.
I'm not a mod so i can't answer that but it was mentioned in the other thread that they had received several warnings for various issues in the past. I also don't think mods are allowed to go into any great detail publicly about specific accounts and actions taken by them towards it so everyone standing around shouting for explanations or reasoning is pointless.
And what would be wrong about stating a warning publically, so that everyone knows the boundaries. "Now now Children" hardly sounds like a warning to be taken seriously.
Perhaps not from our end but my assumption is that the mods have a code of conduct they have to adhere to and if they don't (by say, revealing user specific information) then they might get into trouble from whoever is above them.
As much as I feel this is a pointless argument now, the mods know how me and others feel, and it's a huge shame we've lost several long-term posters as a result. I enjoy the forum and exchanging views with the people on it, but it's by far a worse place without not only those two, but the others gone as a result. They aren't banned anymore though, so it's no longer down to the mods, it's down to them when they're ready (if ever) to come back and bring the place back to life.
The voice of reason. What on earth are you doing on here? I have nothing more to add. Those who have decided to stay away because they were forced to, er, stay away, good luck, whatever. And to those who have decided to stay away for longer than the original guys were forced to stay away on a matter of principle, good luck as well, although if you are expecting the forum to crash and burn without your input, you may be disappointed. I am done explaining for this evening as its getting a bit repetitious. We valiant few who remain will attempt to keep the forum running somehow......
Great. So you chose today to dip your toe back in to the Saints board, and then felt instantly able to judge the merits of the case despite not having a word to say about anything Saints related in the last 9 months? OK. Sorry to see you go.
