If we were getting a new first team GK I would have preferred doing so at the beginning of the summer. It's really important for CB and GK to understand each other and know how each other operates... getting a new GK at this stage would be risky unless slowly incorporated into first team.
Nah, GK is fine. If Mig doesn't improve this year then look next year but getting another keeper in won't help with an ever changing defence. Mario has apparently arrived at Anfield. Imteresting stats om sky sports. City were far better without him than with. During his time there they won 73% of games without balotelli and only 59% with him in the team. Scoring rates were worse with him too.
Is that for his entire time at City? He was really only good for them the first season- second season was a bit odd. His 2nd season at City he was close to useless... I think he was unhappy and wanted out and wouldn't perform. I suspect if you base it on City's first season with him you'd see something different. Curious if you look at his AC time too. There again... even with Gerrard was at his peak- if you looked at our statistics- we would win more without him. Strange how that worked.
Sorry... third season... it was Balotelli's 3rd season he was w**k. Season One- 10 goals in 28 appearances... about 1 every 3 games... not fantastic/ not terrible Season Two- 17 goals in 32 appearances... very good. Better than goal every other game. Season Three - 3 goals in 20 appearances... absolutely awful. Afterwards he moved to Italy and has 30 goals in 54 appearances... so returned to good again. It's really only season 3 in City that he was awful... have to avoid whatever happened then from happening again at Liverpool.
Without Balotelli: 65 goals for, 35 against - 5th place With Balotelli: 75 goals for, 40 against - 4th place With Supermario: 85 goals for, 40 against - champs.
I think we've only gone for Balotelli as an act of social responsibility. If the hacks and the usual wums didn't have anything LFC based to occupy them they'd just be hanging round on street corners and getting into trouble.
Think some of our rivals are worried because if BR can release his full potential he would be awesome. Of course it is massive IF!

I think the reality is, this is as good as you could really get. The hope is he is Suarez mk2, a troubled player who you turn around and get him on the right track. Best of luck. Many have tried.
Worried? No, reservations? Maybe; but every player gets a clean break in my book. I think you're depressed is more accurate. When Liverpool look quick and decisive in their transfer business compared to you, boy are you in trouble.
