There have been some good points raised about Charlie Austin. Personally, I think the boy is top draw and deserves his opportunity at this level. With that in mind, Burnley with Danny Ings, and Leicester with Verdy will be hoping the same from their front men. However, surely the best bit is that they are all English, young hungry strikers who have worked from the bottom to get where they are. Charlie may miss other opportunities other than the penalty however we just need to collectively support him. I can see Remy leaving, but at the last minute.
I would love to see all three of them playing the 3-5-2 system with one dropping into the N.10 role, I would also prefer that to be interchangable so throughout the the they rotate through it. It would be very difficult for their defenders to defend if that was the case...
The main issue for me is that good results are often built on a settled side. Fantastic signings have been made but rotation seems inevitable in order to accommodate them all - which is potentially a worry. The upside is that we have strength and cover for injuries/suspensions - something that's been often missing for some years. For me, Austin starts and needs to maintain form - or his place is up for grabs and a season on the bench awaits.
I think we could see this when we're chasing games. However, it would put too much strain on the 3 CBs and 2 holding players to play it all the time imo.
Good to see delight on here Austin was under pressure last season and delivered. It was clear to see against Hull that he was a bit up against it and easily contained Remy however made that all important spare yard as he grew into the game Those split seconds lost here and there are cobwebs for Austin and it remains to be seen if he can adapt Same can be said re our new loan signings.
