For me it's gotta be the 5-0 hammering of Man Ure.
Ginola tore them a new one.

I too agree with this and Philippe Albert's goal will live on forever.

Apart from the 5-0 I think that Bobby's first match against Sheff Weds was immense.
We won 8-0 but it was important on lots of levels such as Shearer's return to form (scoring 5), turning the corner in a rotten streak of games, burying our (then) relegation opponents and of course the beginning of the SBR period.

Prob the man utd game at a guess but one I would say is close was the time we beat spurs 7.1 the same season as the score line should have been so much more we were just unplayable that day for me that was the perfect performance from all.
I still say to this day that Ian wAlker who was in the spurs goal that day performance was the best
I have seen from a goal keeper and we hit him for 7.
    Happy memories

For me its either the Man U drubbing or the Champions League match at home v Barcelona in 97/98. I got that excited I had to skive work the next morning.

3-1 down to Leicester with 10 mins to go.

    Shearer Hatrick.

Best feeling Ive had when his 3rd went in for 4-3....

5-1 the sunderland game a few years ago. Crap goals but the team fought for the cause. It was also the last time we beat them convincingly, not on a free kick against the run of play. Hopefully this year changes!

That 5-1 was incredible. Turned my non-football missus into a Newcastle fan due to the excitement I generated. Also gave her a small crush on Mr Nolan for his efforts.

Also a shout for the 2nd half performance vs Arsenal in the 4-4! Never have I seen a Newcastle team with so much belief that they could turn a scoreline around.

I would say the 7-1 Spurs. It was pure domination, 2 goals each from Lee, Shearer and Ferdinand, with the 5th goal scored by who else but Albert.

For me May 9th 1993, on our way up to the Premier League Keegan had turned it all around and we beat Leicester 7-1, I was working in Leicestershire and had a few bets on with mates that we would beat Leicester, they all paid up at half time. Special mention to Man Utd game and Albert's chipped goal and the comeback against Arsenal.

Good shout. The atmosphere was spot on. Deafening all day.

Favourite for me though was WBA away in the FA cup in 1974. 20000 Geordies down, every car and bus on the way down had a black and white scarf hanging out of it. Match of the day didn't play the theme tune at the start, just showed the Newcastle fans singing "howay the lads". Marvellous stuff.

The 1976 home game against Tottenham in the league cup semi final was a bit special as well.

All of the ones above are great, and the manure or barca games are probably the ones that spring to mind whenever this question comes up.

Another one to add to it tho was our first European game under Keegan, when we won 5-0 away to Royal Antwerp. I think most neutrals had us down to struggle in the competition as it was a step up and Keegan's gung-ho tactics wouldn't work in Europe. We destroyed them that night and 10-0 would not have been an unfair score. Even the commentator seemed to be waiting for the bubble to burst and Antwerp to come back, but we just kept scoring.

I'd add in the game we won 3-2 at Feyenoord too for excitement and best finishes with Bellamy's injury time winner - tho when you analyse it, it was a bit of a **** performance for large parts of the game.

Mine is a bit of a nothing game but the atmosphere was incredible (living down here I haven't been lucky enough to be at the 7-1, 5-0, 5-1 matches). It was an FA cup replay I think at home against Stoke about 7 years ago but as I was on the train up the news came out that Keegan had been appointed the manager. Everyone on the train suddenly seemed to be more lively; when we got to the stadium there was this huge banner with "Bring Back The Noise" passed around the stadium and there was this electric buzz in the air.

It helped that we won 4-0 (I think?!) but in all the matches I've been to I can't remember an atmosphere quite like that one.

Not sure it's the best we played but the 5-1 battering of the tramps was amazing. The whole atmosphere, loud booing every time they got the ball, I imagine it was like playing in a cauldron of hate for them. They crumbled and we hammered them. I will remember that game forever. I remember walking out pissed off because we'd let them score
