Malky to miss out on Palace?

Norwich, West Brom, Southampton, Leeds and even his home town club at Celtic all passed him over - the Norwich job would have been a no brainer for an ex player held in high regard, but...........

...........although it appears the dossier was only made official very recently, there've been very strong rumours that it actually existed in some form well before the end of last season - even WOL has said it was aware of it. Mackay's future in football may have been subjected to the Chinese whispers that usually follow the "smoke and fire" rule. He should have got a job in the last 8 months no question.

It may be that when Palace/Parish seemed to chose to ignore the whispers as just tittle tattle because that smoothy Moody was already in residence, that the public revelation was deemed appropriate. You could say that was just Tan being vindictive, but you could also say that the non revelation would have been seen the club as withholding pertinent information that the FA should have been made aware of earlier.

 

I broke the story on here last night but none of you seen it.

I just posted on our board that if the allegations are true then MM deserves all he gets. However it is interesting that this evidence has come out of a search for evidence re financial wrong doings - so Tan must have thought it was his birthday when he was told about this.

It would be interesting to know exactly when the evidence was presented to the FA but it does seem very coincidental and as Sparkey says above the FA should have been made aware of this as soon as it came to light so I hope VT wasn't holding it waiting to pull the trigger.

 

The evidence was presented to the FA a week before Pulis left Palace. Looks like the FA then advised Palace of the content and the appropriate action was taken.

 

I've always been 100% behind Malky up 'till now.

Not so sure now.

One thing I will mention is in all the articles I 've read, the papers are deliberately vague about whether the offensive texts were actually sent by Malky, or sent by others to Malky - thats' quite a difference. The only one they actually attribute to Mckay is the one referring to Kimbo as a 'chinky' (not very pleasant I know but hardly a hanging offence).

I'm holding my judgement for now, though until these become facts, not just allegations.

 

Just posted above on another thread...think its a fair point....only the one comment actually attributed to Malky.

Also I wonder if there was no evidence of transfer misgivings if the press are concentrating on these texts???

Time will tell I suppose.

We can only wait and see what happens from now on in, Have just read that Moody has resigned from his role at Palace.

Even though you may have no respect for VT due to the rebrand, you must admit that OUR club looks like it is being run professionally now

......I've never had any objections to rebrand. Would rather it didn't happen, but no big deal.

Didn't like the way Tan undermined Malky & still think it was his interference which ultimately caused the relegation.

Apart from that no problem with Tan.

I've always fought Malky's corner 'till now.

Agree with you though that we can only wait and see, and yes, the club is run far more professionally now.

 

if the allegations were true, if i were hiring a manager i'd want to know if they harboured racist, anti semitic, xenophobic views. is that a fit and proper person to run a football club?

well done to tan for exposing the truth is what i say. they rallied round malky when he was sacked for what we are now are led to believe is gross misconduct, now what will these same football people say?

Have to say Malky played us fans and the media well, looks like it is coming back to haunt him now though.

I think we are feeling in very much the same boat. Mackay was, by all accounts, interviewed by our board in the summer (as you would expect given his record with you and history as a player with us) and turned down for someone who seems much higher risk.

Now it looks like they knew something we didn't at the time...

Then congratulates Tan on releasing the info to the correct sources.

I know you're a huge MM supporter but this would be an all time quantity of smoke without a fire record. The FA, the Palace job, you can feel pretty confident he's not the man you still seem to think he is.

We knew when the apology came out MM had ****ed something up in major style and that Tan had something concrete over him. I wonder if all the media sources that made Tan out to be some kind of nut job will report this with the same level of coverage in his favour this time.

 

This was probably the biggest hint that there was more to the story than a mere falling out between Manager and Owner.

Chairmen and boards must have heard whispers of what went on and that is why Malky is still unemployed.

 

More and more incriminating evidence on Malky Mackay got to be honest I was glad when he went because i didn't like his style ( and i thought he and Moody had their fingers in the till ) but now i really think he's an evil little git who should be banished from football.

 

Ive been one of Malkys biggest supporters. Im stunned by these texts and it doesnt look good. If these allegations are correct then I back the Chairman on this one.

The fact you dont see the problem speaks volumes for you.

Stick to your promise and dont come back.

 

anyone else find it odd pulis left just before all this came out? perhaps he was just distancing him self from the whole situation before it got nasty?
