For those who have yet to catch up with the story, Malky MacKay was on the verge of being appointed Palace boss last night before (cough) "inappropriate" text messages came to light (I wonder how?) between him and Palace Sporting Director Iain Moody from their time together at Cardiff. Investigators with a High Court writ raided Moody's home, and seized electronic equipment resulting in the checking of 75,000 texts & 100,000 e mails. The alleged offensive texts between the two contain the sort of gags that had us rolling in the aisles in the 70s as we watched Mind Your Language, and On the Buses. They include: On the arrival at Cardiff of South Korean international Kim Bo Kyung "Fkn chinkys. Fk it. Theres enough dogs in Cardiff for us all to go around" On football agent Phil Smith: "Go on Fat Phil. Nothing like a Jew that sees money slipping through his fingers" On an official from another club: "He is a snake. A gay snake. Not to be trusted". On a list of potential signings: "Not many white faces among that lot, but worth considering" Sent to members of Cardiff staff: "Have you heard about a game called Black Monopoly. Every square is Go To Jail" No doubt Moody and MacKay will be tarred and feathered for these heinous thought crimes, and banned from football for ten years while Doreen Lawrence and Trevor Phillips conduct a lengthy public enquiry into whether the death penalty should be reinstated in this case. But how ironic that at least 90% of your average football fans will either find these texts amusing, or be sending ones that are similar.
Agree that they are offensive. How you ask? How not? They were found due to Cardiff looking in to the transfer dealings during the Moody/Mackay reign - and to be fair are finding withheld payments and agent fee's being the same as the player cost. Basically 2 crooks have been caught out. I thought Tan was crazy/bitter when he started these proceedings, but when both the accused stopped their pending lawsuits and actually apologised(!!!) to VT in June - it was clear to see Cardiff had stumbled amongst something and they were trying to keep things hush hush.
They raided the home in relation to fraud from transfer deals. When they found these messages, Cardiff have to by FA rules, report them.
As with all humour, the best is funny because there is an element of truth in it. For instance...South Koreans do eat dogs. Fact. It is horrible & disgusting, but a fact. VT is clearly allegedly () a very nasty piece of work, who will stop at nothing. I can't imagine future managers queueing up to work for him after this.
I think more owners will be put off Mackay than managers put off by Tan. And in relation to said message - how do you defend ''fkn chinkys''? It's a clear racial slang meant in a derogatory way. He and Moody sound like absolute *****. The racial slurs will harm their reputation, but the fraud from transfer dealing will see them punished. And rightly so.
What an odious character VinnyTan allegedly is. Changed the club shirt colour, binning 100 years of history in the process. Tucks his replica shirt in his Farahs on match days. Wears his waist band even higher than Simon Cowells. Now using a sledgehammer to crack a nut. Obviously wanted Malky out so he could hire a stooge and pick the team himself. Concocted all sorts of reasons for dismissal. Now leaked personal texts to prevent MM getting another job. Terrible that the High Court should allow a Scotsman's castle to be invaded in such a way.
Tan's no saint - but he's found Moody withholding payments of his money, very suspicious agent fee's (one player costing 600k, and the agent fee being 600k). Tan hans't been breaking the law. Moody, and seemingly Mackay have. I think we would all be aggrieved if someone was stealing money from us.. Mackay knew the score when he made that public grovelling apology to Tan. He's guilty as sin. Some of the stories coming out from former Cardiff youngsters are also very damning for MM. He's what we call - f****d
I agree that text speak in cringeworthy, but this is little more than an assault on the British man's right to privacy, and to possess a sense of humour. Morts & Super may not like it, but 90% of football fans will be using the same. Clowns like Tan will never understand that if they live here 100 years. You are not allowed to have your own opinions or a sense of humour where he comes from, as he has proven numerous times in the past ("I will close this Club" etc) #****er
But you seem to be missing the main point - Moody has been caught stealing money, and early evidence is showing Malky to be caught up in it. The texts are just the tip of the iceberg. Would you not feel aggrieved if your money was being stolen, and then stop the man who did so from seeking employment? And then there's the texts that show Moody was getting information from Cardiff players before the Palace game last season.
Looks like Moody's position at the Croydon Club could come into question now... if I were him I'd be a worried man.
I have missed the bit about Moody stealing money allegedly ? All that appears to have happened is that Cardiff paid well over the odds for players, something that happens to every club (#Souleymayne Diawara). Tan had his high waist band pulled down and his red Cardiff Bluebird pants removed, and he didn't like it. Why did the leaking of these texts come out last night ?
Money paid in to the club by Tan for transfers that don't appear to have reached their destination, agent fee's being the same amount as the fee itself.. Why else did Moody and MM give snivelling, public apologies to Tan shortly after these investigations started?
