Good to see the lad back playing well and at a good level again tonight for Celtic after his injuries. Good signing by us which worked out unlucky in the end given money paid. We always seem to have good keepers which is probably just as well! Who's the Goalie coach, is that part of the reason or do they keep changing?
aye, he was tipped to be our next main goalkeeper, but it never quite happened and the bad injuries etc
I was just saying the same down at the pub during the game. I'm really pleased to see the lad back playing football after having such a bad career-threatening injury. The young lad deserves some credit for sticking at it as does Celtic for showing some faith in him.
Aye, took him an age to get fit again and find a club, so some determination in that miserable junky looking guy! I mean that as a compliment btw, saw him in Edinburgh in the street a few times and he looked ill and downcast but obviously kept going. Full respect when you don't need the money and could be years of pain and boredom trying to get fit when it could be futile. Gone up in my estimations massively. Don't think I could/would do it.
It's great that it has worked out for him. Terrific talent and Jermain Defoe has a lot to answer for, the horrible little bastard. I hope Gordon can get a decent career out of his time, at least as a keeper he could go on until 40.... Good luck to him.
It's a real shame he didn't do more for us Regarding goal keeper coaches he would have had that ex man United Dutch lad, and spink who came with Steve Bruce
He never looked the part from game one to be honest, he must be one of our worst ever buys pound for pound, a couple of good games maybe, but that was it.
Agreed good to see him back, he was top class and very unlucky with injuries, he was being talked of as potentially one of the best in Europe when we signed him. If Celtic can keep him fit and get him back to top form they'll be laughing. 10m and replace him for free!
I will never forget his poor displays, second half at Stoke springs to mind, he is so fragile I saw him a few times around the town and I had to look twice to make sure it was him, he makes the Cauld Lad of Hylton look like Sampson Bessford. It will as you say be a coup for Celtic if it comes off, as it might just do, he looked sound last night, ( as did Vandyke ) but Flash was a financial disaster for us, nothing new there tho'.
