I read that before the game, they had 8 plain amber shirts and 7 plain black shirts, so clearly couldnt have half the team playing in one and the other half playing in the other. One quick thinker realised that if all the shirts were cut into stripes and then sewed together again, it would make 15 matching shirts for the entire team. Probably. Hence, the strip that got the team known as the Tigers. I hope this has cleared up any issues about it. ESSEX GULL
Amazing, 44 posts in and nothing from Mussie telling us this is 'real' football or something similar (no sarcasm intended by the way Mussie ). I wonder if he's one of the founders/sponsors/PR team/volunteers/masseurs etc
wrong thread, i thought this was the lokeren v whoever thread but hasn't this guy gone against the book, he's renamed a club! so.. he owes about £300?
just realized, my parents made me play rugby at dene park area when i was about 6, i hated it and stopped after about 2 matches.. sends shivers up my spine
So he's basically paid 300 quid for national marketing for the club. Absolutely brilliant idea and well worked. They're in the Humber Premier League, which doesn't have promotion to Tier 10, which is slightly disappointing, would be fun seeing if they could progress up the ranks.
To be honest I simply do not see any linkage to Hull City AFC besides them playing football near Hull. Its a cock eyed attempt to ride on the back of the success of Hull City, the only reason that it has any publicity is that the media want it to have an Assem Allam slant. But that said well done him for getting the publicity and for the promotion of grass roots football. The reason for this vent...........Hull and United ...................... Hull and ****ing United............... As long as they don't wear white......................****!
Well it's not really, is it? It's gained so much publicity because of the 'We'll pay you to come watch football' aspect.
