In these equivalent fixtures last season
    Southampton (h)
    City(a)
    Spurs(a)
    Villa(h)

We only returned 4 points. I would expect a minimum of 7 from the same. However they come that is obviously an improvement. I feel the city game is almost a freebie as few will expect us to get anything.

Naturally, I will be a little disappointed if we don't pick up points from City- but, yes, it is the ONE game I think we have to expect a loss all season. Any point is a bonus.

That is true but we played total **** v villa and were robbed by ref v city. Southampton home was a injury hit scenario

So.... The block of 4 should not be measured against last years games as circumstances vary and inevitably after winning 11 in a row other fixtures cannot go as well then

Spurs away and city away are two very hard games I'd take two draws right now but would want a win then v villa to complete the block

  6. I say it all the time. Anything from Eastlands, The Emirates, Goodison, WHL, Old Trafford and Stamford Bridge is a bonus. Would be very disappointing to get nothing from all of them though.

I think city will have to be on their game as well and we need deliver our game

We under estimate sometimes how little sides enjoy playing against us

In the last 15 years, we've only failed to score at WHL 3 times. It's been pretty evenly balanced between us and them at WHL over the years... but I think we're close to our stongest in recent years, and Spurs are near their weakest. Anything less than 3 points from Spurs would be disappointing.

City, Arse, and Chelsea- yeah... those are away games you don't expect points. United you kind of expect points at OT last year... this year don't know- but they lost game 1 home.

Everton- last 10 appearances at Goodison we've got points in 7... so, yes, again I expect to get at least one point at Goodison Park too.

  9. I knew you would pick up on Old Trafford, WHL and Goodison <laugh>

We've had good results at those places recently but they are in the past so mean diddly now. They are the hardest games and, as I said, I wouldn't expect us to get no points at those six venues so maybe the three you highlighted are the ones we get something from.

I'm not comparing the games in the way we played or the circumstances they were played in or wether we were robbed by ref etc. I am looking solely at the points taken from those games. If I a block of four games we can gather more points than last season that takes abit of pressure off results later and I feel that within these four games we should get at least 7 points , 3 better than last year.

Balaotelli to start instead of Studge, get sent off and a six month ban we lose and Studge puts in a transfer request! Good plan Rodgers!

Southampton in particular this season, we bought three of their good players: they wanted to prove a point.
    Playing at Anfied is Special.

Really? I must be in the minority. I expect us to win all our games even when we play away apart from Stamford Bridge and Eastlands. That's it.
