£16m for Scott Dann and Cameron Jerome. Worth it? I think not, at that price.

    What are your thoughts?

Why would we want to ship large money on a central defender as back up - unless one of either Huth or Shawx are on the way out or the grand master is thinking of playing Huth at RB AGAIN!!!!!!!

    Jerome - DOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

3 goals last season and he played 40+ games - dont tell me he is "STOKE FIT" and "WORKS ARD"?

This is big money and in the region of 80k a week for the pair - anyone else think a couple of development CB at 1 million each and invest 15 million into a creative CM and striker. FFS Bothroyd is on a FREE, why ship big money for Jerome or even Cole for that matter?

Damn right Smithers - Hi again by the way, are ye going to join the TP out campaign??
The rate we are going, there will be quite a crowd I hope.

I posted a thread on this, which has been ignored, I'm wounded, but what the hell.

That lad from Peterborough - Mackail-Smith would be worth a punt, certainly knows where the net is, unlike, Jerome, Cole and the other so called strikers we have been linked with.
God almighty, Huth at RB AAAAAGGGGGHHHH. Dunn is good but not that good, TP does like his CB's though!!

It's been said before on here - Reo-Coker on a free, yes please.

Oh sod it, doesn't matter what I/We think we are not the manager of this football club.

    Smashing innit:headbang::headbang::headbang::headbang::headbang:

<steam>Why would a club with our budget even consider a cirica 10 million bid for a rotation CB - it just doesn't make sence. For the last 2 seasons we have struggled to move the ball forward (except Matty & Pennant carrying it down the wing) and every fan (For or Against TP) knows we have been crying out for proper full backs who can get forward, a link up midfielder who can pass the ball more than 10 yards to the same coloured shirt and a striker who can run off a target man and stretch the high lines teams often play aginst us - especially when Fuller isn't playing.

Why would Mr Coates want to invest that kind of dosh for a CB when we already have a partnership worth 25 million who have both got another 6 - 8 years in them? Why would we want to invest crica 4 million into a striker that has a poorer goal record than Sidibie? Why would we want to sell Fuller on the cheap (crackin impact sub) who has only 1 year left on his contract and probably wouldn't pass a medical anywhere else?

We have 2 big strikers on our books (KJ & MS) a make shift running striker (Walters) and Fuller who is quite injury prone, I cant honestly see what Jerome would bring to our squad - except higher wages and an even lower shots on goal %!

Although we generally score just enough goals, it has always been our weakness coupled with our inabilty to create open play chances on a regular basis. We need an out and out pacey striker who can stretch back lines and hit the target on a regular basis!

Although its very early to speculate, it could be another dismal transfer window, on both numbers and quality!

I can't believe that any team in the premiership would consider spending actual money on Jerome.

Jerome got to be joking. Have a number of extended family who support Brum and they are laughing their arse off at the thought of us buying him. Useless is their view and mine

Hi, came on here to ask you Stoke fans where you thought Danns would play next season if you signed him; although you seem uncertain too! Perhaps Pulis will play three centre backs next season with two wing-backs or is a four man centre back defence more likely?

Eitherway I really rate Pulis as a manager so I think you are in safe hands even if he loves to buy solely strikers and centre backs :).

Waste of money if you ask me. Why buy a striker that helped get his club relegated last season by mis firing in front of goal?
TP has lost the plot and proves once more that if this is genuine and not media tripe that he clearly does not have a clue in the transfer market. Either that or he is Peter Coates's money launderer.

I think, if true, this rules us out of the running for Dann

    http://www.skysports.com/story/0,,11670_7018613,00.html

Skysports.com understands Chelsea and Arsenal are ready to battle it out for Birmingham defender Scott Dann.

As revealed by skysports.com last week, new Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas has identified a new defender as one of his top transfer targets and he is thought to be keen on bringing in a British centre-half.

Bolton defender Gary Cahill has been mentioned as a possible target, but skysports.com understands Cahill is not on Chelsea's wanted list and that Dann is Villas-Boas' preferred choice.

Dann has established himself as one of the best young defenders in the country during the last two seasons and his absence from the heart of the Birmingham defence for the second half of last season through injury contributed to the club's eventual relegation.

The 24-year-old is keen to stay in the Premier League and Birmingham are resigned to losing their prized asset this summer.

    Accomplished

A host of clubs have been credited with an interest in 6ft 5in defender Dann with Liverpool, Aston Villa and Stoke all chasing his signature.

However, it appears Chelsea and Arsenal are ready to go head-to-head for the former Coventry man.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has made a new central defender one of his top priorities and Dann is thought to figure highly on his wanted list.

Wenger is ready to firm up his interest in the accomplished central defender as he looks to add a dominant defender to his ranks.

Meanwhile, skysports.com understands Stoke have agreed a deal with Birmingham for Dann, but that the player is holding out to see what comes of Chelsea and Arsenal's interest as he wants to be playing at the highest level possible.

Thank the Good Lord IF Jerome isn't coming to Stoke. FF Sake, there is a God after all. WHAT is Pulis thinking of maybe like me, he's been out in the sun far too long.
