Yeah, he's said nothing!

I'm not interested in Borini any longer.

Whatever the contract negotiations, whatever the clauses, whatever the player's concerns ........ the season has started and he's not here.

He's had his chance, let's see if Welbeck wants to play for Sunderland or is he another who's bank account is more important than playing football. What is it with people who are supposed to love the game that they'd rather mooch around in the reserves or at ****ing QPR <doh>

I see what you mean Smug.

I read it as if Borini said: "It’s still ongoing. I can assure the supporters it’s not over." but it was Gus who said that.

    My mistake.

Easy mistake to make mate, this whole thing has frazzled everyone.

The weird this is that Liverpool have said he's unwanted, we say he's wanted but the season's started and he's gone shopping with their lass.

Everything that's wrong with modern football in a Borini shaped nutshell.

This would be my stance from a fan's point of view. With all due respect Poyet is starting to sound a bit desperate regarding this transfer and other clubs will take note of that when Sunderland are bidding for their striker/winger because Borini won't move.

Borini should consider himself very lucky to be given the opportunity to play for you lot, he didn't play well enough to merit a place in a CL side last season, clearly he thinks he's a lot better than he is.

Borini arrived at Sunderland with barely a shrug of the shoulders from the supporters.

I stood at Villa, watched him miss an absolute sitter and wonder how he was in the side.

He's gone from that to superstar status in his own mind ..... I can't see any other clubs beating a path to his agent's door.

Don't get me wrong, he did put in a shift and scored a few important goals but he's not really irreplaceable. He could go on to be a Sunderland great if he had the right attitude, or he could go on to be another also ran wannabe.

If he's digging his heels in to prove himself, like Henderson did then fair play to him for that attitude but I would be very surprised if Liverpool give him that opportunity with their current objective.

There will be no bitterness from me towards him, he scored some very important goals & if he wants to try and make it at Liverpool that's fair enough.

We just need to move on now, which thankfully we look like we're finally doing

This is the key for me. When strikers are such a wanted commodity, it strikes me as odd we are the only club in for this guy.

I'd be more excited if Welbeck signed than Borini.

Let Borini rot in Liverpool reserves if that's what he wants.

Smug I was at Villa too and I think it was Giaccherini who missed the sitter. Other than that I'm with you on this one! Would be happy enough if he came but think we should look elsewhere

What's happened to all the lurv for Borini? Why are people blaming him for the delay when it is probably Liverpool who are waiting to get a new striker before releasing him? The true story will come out when he finally walks through the AOL doors, and the world will be a better place again.

    On the money mate.

He was signed for a Liverpool hoping to close the gap on the top 4, a title push was probably seems as 4-5 years minimum.

The masterstroke signing of Sturridge, and the development of a few more, put them 3 years ahead of schedule and as such Fabio simply isn't at their level.

If there level is CL, he won't get there either, not without a step back and games galore.

I guess after the Rodgers/Henderson thing, every player who fights for the shirt has to be given a bit of credit but realistically, Henderson always looked like he would naturally progress to that next level, which he has. Borini's gonna have to graft for it, besides which, his striker/winger role steps all over a host of players who are part of the woodwork in that team now, the Coutinho/Sterling/Lallana set up... I can't see him forcing his way into that.

Sometimes you have to take a step down/back to make progress, he needs to learn that fast before he ends up on loan to some Russian/Turkish club.
