My big concern under Ole was the defence.

Superb tonight. Fabio (my man of the match) outstanding as were Brayford and Connolly. Solid debut from Morrison and Marshall commanding in the box.

Midfileld needs more mobility and pace. Id like Ralls brought in to the squad.

Bit like watching a Malky team. Not pretty but we got the result.

First half was pretty even and not a little tedious to be honest - as said, very much like a Malky game. Pilks on for Daehli seemed to step it up going forward after the break and it looked like there was only going to be one winner at that time. Glad for Maynard when he got his goal - that wont do him any harm at all.

Not sure if the Wigan substitutes changed the game for them, or we just settled for it, but the last half hour saw the best defensive work I've seen this season. That back 4 looked very solid and surprisingly pacey. Connolly is a relevation this season and Morrison must keep his place at the expense of Huds. Fabio and Brayford looked a class pair of fullbacks.

Funny thing is the midfield still doesn't look right despite having by far the most options for Ole to choose from - perhaps that's the problem. There's still no real pace to get the ball forward either by running with it or just passing it. Ralls is a good shout, but the only problem for me is it would be yet another change. Can't see any problems at all up front if we get the midfield right though.

Apart from the win, the best thing about last night was Championship games on a Tuesday night under lights is back - even if it was a half empty stadium. When you watched at NP under lights in a 90% empty stadium, it isn't a real problem.

Fabio was my MOM. Flawless performance. Likes getting forwards, puts himself about; there isn't a lazy bone in his body. I don't know what's happened to Connolly, but I have a feeling it's a 'head' thing. Someone's made him believe in himself. I've always liked him, but he was error prone; but so far this season, he's not put a foot wrong. I'm pleased for him. Morrison: big bugger, plays the ball well. Great stuff.

Connolly has been brilliant so far, even though he thought he was Franz Beckenbaur on one occasion last night and got caught out.

We now have 4 fit central defenders that can come in and do the job if required.

    Hudson & Connolly looked sound.
    Same with Connolly & Morrisson.
Fabio & Brayford standout performers so far (with Connolly, Jones)
What happens when Big Ben comes back?
    How gutted is Hudson?
    Will Cala be happy?
    All 'good' problems to have.
