I noticed Rick Everitt /Airman Brown manning the CAST stand behind the Covered End last week.

I had previously assumed that Rick was a CAST-o-phobe, so has there been a rapproachment over the summer months?

G21 seems to have gone quiet following their humiliation at Katrien's hands at the back end of last season - Rick's presence on the CAST stand suggests that maybe the Anorak Army have merged their resources for the non- battles to come?

And how does Barnie feel about about sharing his wigwam with another Charlton fan with a large hat size :emoticon-0107-sweat

I can't think of anything worse than mixing politics and football. Besides, I tend to find those sorts of people to be right knob-ends.

That is all I shall say on the matter.

He will worm his way in to anything. The man has lost all dignity and is a nuisance to the club - nothing more.

Just thankful people are seeing it after years of blindly following him because he told them we were taking 376 fans up to Blackburn.

Surprised at the cynicism - if CAST has secured Rick's services, its a bit like Ebbsfleet signing Lionel Messi. Doors to the boardrooms of England will now swing open, allowing Barnie & his Grecian 2000 to barge their way in.

Either Rick was sheltering under the CAST canopy to prevent 3,000 unsold copies of Voice of the Valley from getting wet, else a deal has been done <laugh>

What ever happened to supporters clubs?. Honest to goodness individuals who like nothing more that to get supporter A to Oldham on a Tuesday nite on a Birds of Brenton sick smelling and near MOT failing coach. They sought no reward, no glory, no hand outs, no cookies with the chairman. Sure they were a bit boring and had difficulty with talking about anything non CAFC related except train times and diesel consumption but they were good sorts. They were the ones passing round the buckets collecting for the unfortunate, you never knew their names because they didn't want to tell you.

This new political supporter reeks of trades unionism to me, and there quest for recognition makes me wanna puke. They all wear gola trainer, cardigans and work in accountancy. Their fingers are not on the pulse of the supporter but more likely to be in the rectum of the board. Supporters Trust simply do not reach out to the supporter but instead embrace the elitism in football that I detest. If this club hit the rocks again, it wouldn't be the Airmans or the Razzles that save the club, but the bucket man. Who are they? We are the bucket men.

Going back to the 80's, do you remember Bill Treadgold from the Supporters club, and his side kick Wally (little fella, always wore a tartan cap) ?

Bill was to public relations what Hitler was to the gas industry, but both 'proper Charlton' the likes of which you no longer see ...

    @ Vol

I do remember Bill, Wally I think so, I remember Bill fondly for an incident on a coach to Blackburn or somewhere circa 1988. For some reason, the hooligan element of CAFC wanted to go up north looking for a fight, about 20 of them found themselves on a coach with Bill along with 30 or so normal (well for CAFC away in the 80's) relatively normal well behaved fans. The Lewis coach left well hall at 10am and on got the thugs. The ground rules were laid down almost immediately, BT said " right there's kids on this coach (1 aged 15) and a woman (really debateable) so we will have no bloody swearing and no drinking" of course Bill or Wally were still pissed from the nite before so they really were nursing hangovers.. Of course the thugs necked beer all the way up north while Bill was asleep. CAFC won and the thugs had a fight and it all went well. On the way back, some thug asked to play a video (Under 30s see DVD), I think it was Eddie Murphy, 5 minutes into the film Eddie delivered the word "ShhhIIIIITT' Bill got up and stopped the DVD and said "I am not having rude words in front of a woman and kid" (both of whom had been at the game making Tanker signs at the home fans BTW) and promptly removed the video headmaster like and said you can have that when you get off.

Everyone went mental and booed. Bill didn't give a monkeys. Bill asked the driver if he had any other videos and the driver said "well yeah just one but its my kids"

For the next 2 hours the hardest most violent members of B Mob were treated to Free Willy. Some of them didn't get it and at least one was crying at the end.

    <laugh>

It is fair to say that when Hulyer pulled the plug on us at the Valley, Bill copped a fair bit of flak as Chair of the Supporters Club for being caught asleep behind the wheel. Do you remember who Bill's no.1 critic was at the time.....

    Yep....Rick Everitt <laugh>

When I first started going to away games it was on bill and wally 's coach run independently from the supporters club. If I remember correctly wally had a heart attack at the stadium of light the season we won the play offs

I can't ever imagine having anything to do with either of them in normal life but like people have already said proper people and in it for the love, not the glory.

I assume just Rick. But he's probably protesting some traffic lights as we speak for turning red and not allowing him his right to cross the street.
