The thing that has pissed me off with this Ekstrand incident is that the referee didnt see it! He is taking the advice of his unsure linesman. The linesman hesitated when even flagging so how can he be certain that it was an intentional elbow!?!? If the referee hasnt seen it with his own eye how can he be confident enough to send Joel off?? He must be 100% certain, and I cannot see how he can be.
BHD......look at the Middlesborough game on Saturday where they had an excellent goal disallowed by the linesman. It would appear that they are being encouraged to get involved and to make decisions for, and on behalf of the match referee. It's completely wrong!!
Possibly, but if their player had a bloody nose and went down like a sack of 'spuds.' doesn't look good to me to be honest.
To be honest I do not think him invaluable to the team. Over the second half of last season he picked up far too many yellow cards and made a lot of errors, some of which cost us dearly.
True - and it's not as if we lack decent cover in that area. Plan B (Hoban) may well be even better than Plan A in many eyes...
That wasnt the linesman YV was it?. That was our old friend Attwell who disallowed it. I havent seen the linesman raise his flag in any of the replays I have seen. As for the decision itself, talk about taking the law into your own hands. Rooney is able to do it in the premiership but suddenly its not ok in the championship??
Yup, another Atwell cock up. No more need be said. As to Ekstrand, in the absence of any evidence then what is written in the report will stand. Any attempt to suggest otherwise would be regarded as frivolous and a waste of time, cost the club money and probably end up with a longer ban.
Shame to hear about this. Sure they will be suitably punished. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-norfolk-28853573 No doubt drink was involved somewhere and all clubs have their idiots. Thankfully ours are just a very small minority.
http://www.watfordfc.com/news/article/140819-norwich-racism-statement-1840085.aspx I hope that if the two idiots involved are found guilty they get a long ban from the club and the penalty imposed by the court prevents them attending matches anywhere.
http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/11416384.On_this_date_in_Watford_FC_history/?ref=eb We have been hornets for 55 years !!!!
Are we starting to collect rather more trouble makers than we used to? http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-beds-bucks-herts-28902989
Poorly written article IMO That the six arrested were football fans of the Watford persuasion is implied, not stated - why did the BBC see fit to report this that way? What of the other 24 involved - were they Bolton fans, innocent parties or otherwise? Basically leaving readers to draw their own possibly incorrect conclusions...
So we couldn't find anyone else? http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/11431021.Gilmartin_returns_to_Watford/
Anya called up for Scotland's Euro qualifier against Germany next month - along with former Hornet Craig Forsyth. Always knew he'd make it & still think it was a mistake to offload him...
