With his performance last Saturday I believe Quinny has done enough to start next w/end against Stoke? If Snodders doesn't make it I suspect it will be a straight choice between him and Meyler?
We did look a lot better, but I think he's the kind of player who should be coming off the bench when we need a bit of spark, rather than a player to start straight away. When the game needs sharpening up bring him on to run at some tired legs.
Quinny was everywhere on Saturday, linked everything together and ran the show as soon as he was introduced. A delight to watch!
He did the same in the FA Cup final - especially in the 1st half when no one in the arse team new who should be picking him up. For me he has played himself into the starting 11 for Stoke. Boyd and Meyler will feature on Thursday I think.
We deffo need someone with his qualities in a 3-5-2 at times. He gives us a go forward. Also, we call him quinnesta on here. I came here thinking it was a thread on gravel voiced forensic pathologist, Quincy.
I best not tell you what I thought it was about but I am due at the Opticians on Wednesday morning, so that might account for it.
With Snodders looking like be faces a spell on the sidelines Quinn-iesta should get that place after saturdays performance. In fact it would be a travesty if he did not. With Rosie, Alex B. and Snodgrass out injured it looks like Robertson - McShane and Quinn will all get to play 3 games this week. For sure they can handle it.
Quinn will be good when we play against teams in the 2nd half of the table. I believe it will be too much for him when we play teams in the top half.
Should we offer him a new contract? If we keep him for this year he can walk for free at the end of it, also with out trying to sound negative if we do go down his name will be one of those first on the team sheet.
I don't think he's ever let us down and has looked one of our better players whenever he played last year imo. Compare that to meyler who is very often sloppy and wasteful in possession..
He should always be in the team ahead of Meyler, in my opinion. But the only thing about Quinn is that he doesn't get into attacking positions enough for me, which could be a problem if Thudd and Jakey decide to sit back. He's also quite lightweight and while he's very good on the ball, against opponents like Stoke or Villa who have very big, strong players I think he'll struggle. As has been said before, he's a great option from the bench to add something different to the team, but I wouldn't start him.
It is very close which one should start, maybe Quinn in the home games and Meyler when away. But this is probably why Meyler get the nod he does get goals.
