Ten players missing will do that to any team.

    Rvp
    Rafael
    Shaw
    Evans
    Carrick
    Valencia
    Welbeck

There from the first team alone. Its something many seem to forget. If all fit, rafael, shaw, evans, rvp carrick and Welbeck start yesterday. Swans first goals doesnt happen and nor does their second imo.

So its not ordinary at all. Its stretched to our limit. Of course this is the clubs fault as they have been slow in the market and no addressed all the issues we have.

The list above should answer any questions about where united are right now. Far from full strength.

I agree you were pretty ****ed due to injuries yesterday - but from that list are there that many players that are truly Man Utd (of old) quality? I'd say the only one is RVP personally.

Carrick possibly - but compared to Utd midfielders of old Carrick wouldn't even have made the bench.

Maybe some are not but they are better than what played yesterday.

    Hernandez/rvp
    Young/shaw
    Lingard/welbeck
    Fletcher/carrick
    Smalling/rafael
    Blackett/evans

Change of formation obviously bit a major improvement. Carrick sits deep, fletcher left the massive hole that led tontheir first for example.

Yeah I agree with that - but still it just show's that you seriously need to sign some quality in a number of areas.

For Woodwood to not have signed a CB, meaning your first game of the season was so disjointed is criminal - especially as he's known for some time now that Vidic and Rio were going.

Out of those missing yesterday for you yesterday none of those would have made our first 11

    Rafael
    Shaw
    Evans
    Carrick
    Valencia
    Welbeck

If you think differently can you let me know who you think would start for us and instead of who?

(I've left RVP out as he would start for us)

    Hmm.

Evans, rafael, shaw and Welbeck would all feature. Reckon welbeck would be right up rodgers street. His kind of player.

    Evans v skrtel/agger?

Rafael and shaw? Every chance they start the game.

Even carrick. I could see rodgers rotating gerrard and carrick depending in how much cover you need.

Yeah but for today's game - none of those players would make our starting 11.

If Rodgers had a bit of time to work with them then maybe Rafeal at RB, but the rest simply wouldn't. We have better options in all those positions. Welbeck I don't rate one bit (but that's just my personal view, as I understand others rate him quite highly).

We don't need Carrick - We have Gerrard and Lucas for the holding role. With Henderson and Can for the more advanced role (amongst players like Lallana et al.) who could fit into a midfield formation quite easily.

Carricks a far better dm/holding mid than gerrard. Gerrard lacks the intelligence and sense for the role.

I think 99.9% of non-United fans would have to do so too.

Gerrard is an awful defensive mid. Offers zero protection, has no defensive awareness. Cant read tge game at all.

Carrick ****s on him as a dm. Simply because its carricks role and gerrards is further forward.

Of course Gerrard can read the game. His header to put Suarez through on goal at the World Cup was sublime <whistle>

What a tragedy! First game of the season lost. Never mind 37 games to go

A real tragedy is with two games to go, your skipper slips and lets in the opposition to beat you at home. Season over, no premiership title, no medals, won nowt.
