Good effort overall, and didn't deserve to lose.

Forster - didn't really have a tonne to do, hard to evaluate.
Defense - really shaky on a couple occasions, and that was the difference. Bertrand/Clyne were excellent going forward, but the latter switched off twice, and it resulted in two goals.
Midfield - immense, to a man. Really impressed with JWP and Tadic, and Schneiderlin/Wanyama were their usual selves.
    Strikers - meh.

Positives to be taken I feel. Unlucky in the end but them's the breaks.

Where are the negative Nancys that said we would be outclassed?.....When we get all our players fit and build some chemistry we will be a hard team to beat

We deserved at least a point, which is pleasing as I thought we would loose by more. Unfortunately I still think our strikers will struggle to score enough

This was supposed to be our team at it's worst remember? That's what everyone was saying. How we'd need so much time to gel and all that malarky. I think there's a great deal to be positive about.

You were as good as we were poor!

JWP was very impressive. If Davis had scored we wouldn't have got back into it IMO.

Funny how Schneiderlin looked a lot more dangerous in front goal. He lacked his usual intensity as expected. I actually thought we looked better up front than we did for large parts of last year. Davis and Long should have taken there chances and then we could have claimed that Rodgers signed the wrong Saints players.

yep a lot of great performances today, JWP, Wanyama, Betrand, Tadic, Clyne was good going forward.

Tadic MOTM just for making Lovren look like a twat

Very frustrated with this defeat, seeing as we were the better team. We missed three clear cut chances, Liverpool bar the goals (which were more of our own making than something they did) hasn't created anything, can't remember any saves from Forster.

But plenty to look forward to in the future.

Or was it our style of play made you poor(well not as good as usual)?

Wanyama absolutely superb - seems to have cut the clumsy fouls out of his game, managed to control 30% of the pitch by himself. Ward-Prowse also very impressive, seems maybe he might find himself as an attacking playmaker, seems to suit him playing in the final third actually. I hope he continues his form from the early season which he seemed to struggle with last season.
