By no means out of our depth here. Couple of players have me worried, but Tadic is a bright spark. Shows more potential than we had with Lallana even.

Hope the 2nd half is a bit better and we get Pelle in to the game.

Few less casual giveaway passes in the second half please.

Can't be long...until Long comes on then. Maybe for Morgan if he's not fit. We have had some good moments so not upset so far.

Yes but to disengage from them he needs JWP or Tad/Davis to get beyond their two in front of the defence and/or their fullbacks in order to engage one of the CB's. Not going to be able to get any space when its just him vs Skrtel and Lovren. Pelle vs one of either of them and he will get space

I'd like to see Long in there relatively soon, as well. Tadic has been able to find space, and he seems fond of the early ball...two things that work well with Long making runs in behind.

Well for a team that's been together ten minutes we look alright.

    Tadic looks very good
Pelle looks like he is off the pace and understanding of his team-mates
    Bertrand looks very good
    Vic looking very good
    Morgan looking a little shy
Davis and JWP doing ok chasing down
Clyne woke up after 30 minutes
Maya looked nervy for first thirty

Get Shane Long on about 15 minutes into the 2nd half. But overall... encouraged.

There's Florin, Gastón and Jay on top of that match day squad - and 2 more signings.

    HT best players for me
    Vic
    Bertrand
    Yoshida (to my surprise)

And please stop judging Pelle on his own against 2 good CBs

I thought that Bertrand was supposed to be ****.....Him, Vic and Dusan were my players of the first half.
I think the team will grow in confidence, the next goal is crucial, if we get it then it's game on.

It's the Premier League, he'll be against good defenders all the time and unless he learns how to find space then he'll struggle.

Listening to the pundits at half time. I forgot Gerrard was even on the pitch.

I bet Lovren has a lump in his throat from this Anfield atmosphere. I saw he had a semi.

Pretty good from us, a lot of the mistakes i think will fade once the team gel but we really need a winger on the right Johnson is so wobbly and off the pace but Davis isnt the player to make him pay for it.

He does need to make runs, try to drag them out of position, try to find pockets of space to receive the ball. Save for the instances where he has dropped deep to try and win a header, he's been far too static.

Good strikers create their own service to some extent; they take up positions that allow their teammates to find them in dangerous moments. Lesser strikers forever find themselves lacking service.

Well other than the goal we conceded, which was easily avoidable, we did fine.

Tough in the opening 20 minutes or so we lost pretty much every 50-50 challenge. For example, JWP got bullied off every single ball. Even before the goal when Tadić was manhandled by two Liverpool players and lost the ball, Morgan failed to recover it, which he usually does brilliantly. Our defenders somewhat naively left Sterling unguarded, Henderson made a great pass and Liverpool scored. But other then that, we defended all right.

But the need for gelling is evident. The passes we misplaced were beyond count. We improved on that as the game went on.

Wanyama was immense. And it's also obvious that Tadić is going to be a great signing.
