"Superb" contract offer on the table for him, no bids received, returning for pre season as normal.

What's everyone's gut feeling - Will we still lose him? Will he see out his contract? Will he sign the one offered?

I dont know what to think anymore.

We got survival, we've signed class players, those are the 2 things he wanted to see right? Maybe it has convinced him <diva> I hope we can keep him, get him signed up to a 5 year deal please! I be still be wary until that happens!

Was wondering about this. He said on that Late Kick Off interview that we arent the club we were anymore (hinting that the quality of players isnt what it was when he joined). Maybe the influx of new signings has changed his mind?

I've heard so little new information about him in the past few weeks that i was begining to wonder. Maybe he will, personally i think it all rest on the new signings and whether Colo and Jonas stay

Colo and Jonas have both said in the last few days they are keen to stay, maybe Jose recently decided he would stay and told them, prompting them to stay as well?

    Maybe I'm just dreaming...

My gut feeling is we will lose him of a free next season which would be disastrous

I became resigned to losing him ages ago but now I am not so sure.

I still think he will leave this summer but that it will be a late deal, just before the window closes. Just hope we have somebody in to take his place. Lets face it we need a backup anyway.

That is exact! I am thinking Barca would be bidding for me because I am Enrique but they are not seeing talent when it slapping them. <doh>

i hope he does stay, for the amount of money we'd get from a LB in the last year of his contract wouldn't be enough to get a quality replacement.

If no one else is going to make an acceptable offer then he may stay and hopefully sign a new contract

I'm not getting my hopes up until he signs a new contract and it's September. Have been pretty much resigned to losing him, but quick action on transfers in, and his transfer out seemingly going cold does make things look a bit better.

I am liking the new faces in St James and if we are pushing Europe it would be better for staying.

I think as long as a club not already in the Champions League, he'd stay here in the hope of getting into Europe (obviously only at Europa level) so if none of the top 4 in England, Spain, Italy or Germany were to bid, he might stay. I dont know about the top 4 in the foreign leagues, but from England we can only expect Arsenal to be possibly looking at LBs IMO (out of the top 4), and Bayern Munich also appear to be looking. Madrid have Marcelo, but it wouldnt be crazy to see them bid for Enrique. Same for Barca, who's LBs are all around 30 and declining in quality. Realistically I dont see him going to either, at least not right now before he's more established. Looking at other clubs who have been linked with him, Man U have Evra on a long deal, and supposed interest in Izzaguirre, while AC Milan signed Taiwo on a free. Also if you think about it, Clichy's move to Liverpool doesnt appear to have much substance to it, so Arsenal might not even need Enrique.

I know this is long, but I'm going somewhere, trust me. Based on my theory that he'd only leave for CL football, I think only Arsenal or Bayern would be likely to bid this summer (I did miss a few 3rd/4th placed teams in the foreign leagues, anyone clued up know if they're in the market for LBs?).

Not sure how much sense that makes but basically I dont think there's loads of clubs who'd want him, that he'd leave us for. 2 at my estimate.

Don't be daft he will be sold on the last day of the transfer window like Carroll was.
Carroll was sold in january and still no replacement
