according to the newspapers and sky, we are about to put in a bid for steven fletcher, considering the turned down 8mill last season, we are going to have to pay more and I really don't think he's worth it, infact he looked dreadful last season! I really hope this one is just a rumour!

I'd rather we went for a pacey forward as opposed to a forward similar to Jela. Sunderland fans seem to think he's had a good preseason and is getting back to his best but I'd rather we looked elsewhere.

I'd rather we sign a manikin. This would be an equally **** signing. Are we trying to sign a player that can keep Aluko company in the treatment room?

A perfect example of a player who has shown he can be a real goal threat. Brilliant target man and can score all sorts of goals. Form and obviously fitness/injuries would be a concern.

Many of us bang on saying 'in Bruce we trust' well this would be a real test of that. Potentially, he could be the best striker in our affordable range.

Wouldn't his poor injury record bring his value down ? He is a gamble, but maybe one that might pay off big..

When fit last season I thought he was quite poor. This time last year I'd have been wetting my pants at the thought but after last season I'm too doubtful. We don't have piles of cash we only have one chance to get it right and fletcher IMO is too big a risk and also too similar to jelavic.

He's certainly a very decent player, but is very fragile

Give us, ooooh lets say £12 million, and we might consider it! Honestly though, unless its an offer we cant refuse I cant see us letting him go! Particularly with Wickhams contract up in the air and Altidore's shooting boots being on the wrong feet thus far!

He wasnt fit last season......at all! And the whole team was 'quite poor', in fact, for the majority of the season, we were utter garbage! Cant expect him to stand out amongst that lot! Big season for him this season! Hopefully he'll be back to his best cos for me personally he could be key to us from keeping clear of the relegation zone!!

He scored 3 goals from 25 appearances last season. I saw him many times and he appeared 'gone at the game' for me but Steve Bruce, IF he is interested, must have a part for him to play but surely the guy couldn't be worth any more than 3-4 million at this stage in his career.

You can put your bid in, why would we want to sell him ? <confused>

Just because you conned Southampton with Long, it doesn't mean you can buy any player you want you know, get real ! Some of them wouldn't move to Hull for all the tea in China !

Fletcher would keep the medical staff in a job so it's a definite "NO" from me.When fully fit was/is a good player but at around the £8million figure being bandied about far too big a risk.

Not really impressed by the thought of signing Wickham but the good news has been we are not signing Bendtner.
