Thank you to the Beeb. You have covered the games with good presenters, knowledgeable experts and coverage across so many sports. I dread to think what it has done to the budget at a time when like everyone else a little belt tightening is called for. Good to see that BBC Three was opened up to spread the coverage during the day, and would have been even better if BBC Four had been used in the same way. The web was not quite so good, often behind the times, but a minor thing really. I read that the FL show is going to be repeated on a Sunday morning at 9.00 am your time. OK it can be poor, but it often comes on too late for me to watch with the time difference. Once again cheers, and thank heavens no adverts every 10 minutes. Glasgow you did very well. The opening did not do much for me, but the way in which the games have continued have been excellent. So many people have been involved across so many nations that I hope that coming together is shown to be better than us all thinking we should do our own thing.
i don't know why, i haven't watched much of the games..time limits i suppose..better next time coz i'm a night person! lol. But...good closing ceremony, though a little too much Kylie..or is that just me?!
I bet those non-sport fans are now happy.. As a sports fan though it was a great event watching so many different sports we don't usually get to see. So many potential champions of the future as well which bodes well.
I absolutely loved the Commonwealth Games - I thought Scotland did a brilliant job and it was great to see England, Scotland and Wales all achieve record mdeal hauls - better together eh? . and Bolton has been kept a teensy weensy bit quiet
Nice to see a strong showing from the British team in the European athletics championships. Sure the standard is not what it was but good performances all the same.
Cricket going well again. Dan - I think its probably average in some areas like the sprints but a lot are youngsters will only gain confidence and the feeling of winning medals for the future. People like Farah,Sharman and Porter are pretty much world class in their events who will be expected to compete against the very best.
European athletics has been pretty good - I can't make up my mind what is up with Mo Farah though - was he really injured for the Commonwealth Games or is there nmore to it? Cricket getting nearer a series win
Wasn't sure but Farah did say he'd collapsed in training and that shouldn't be the sort of thing you'd make up... Jodie Williams is a local girl (to Watford) so good to see her going well. Only 20 and come back from injuries.
They have won the last two on the bounce I think, but hadn't won in about 10 before that. India have just capitulated in the last two tests. Their performance is summed up by the fact that Moeen Ali has 14 wickets in the series! A part time finger spinner has torn through the Indians!! Its unheard of.
