Well, seeing you're reigning champions we thought you deserved the high seats so our fans' heads are bowed lower. ;)

Head says we get a 4-1 tanking from them as we meet a pumped up full strength City baying for blood.

Heart says they are suffering from having so many World Cup players, a bit jaded, not at full strength, we are on the crest of wave and hit them like a juggernaut resulting in a 3-1 victory.

I think we're being a bit hard on ourselves. We looked good attacking wise so far pre-season, and City haven't had a great pre-season defensively.

If it ends 2-3 and a great performance I'll be very happy.

    ---------Riviere----------

    Aarons---Cabella---Gouff

    -----Anita----Sissoko------

    Haidara--Colo---Willo---Janmaat

    -------------Krul------------------

I'd prefer Sissoko in a more CDM role, because Colback and Anita is a very weak and piss poor central defensive pair. Anita is a good player but needs a tank next to him.

I'd just throw the lad Aarons on the pitch and let him loose. Him and Haidara looked like a decent pairing in pre-season, and if we play him as a LW/LAM and give him freedom, the likes of Anita and Sissoko can pick up the defensive duties more often.

apparently tiote and de jong are both going to be fit so I'm hoping to see

    -------Riv
    Aarons---Cabella
    ------Dejong
    ----Tiote--Sissoko
    Haidara-Colo-willo-janmaat
    ------krul

im hoping to god colback doesn't start from what I've seen in preseason he is absolute kak....yes he works hard but absolutely no composure on the ball or any creative gile....if sissoko starts on the wing I might just write the season off already...but hey If pardew pulls the finger out and plays a team like that I see a cheeky victory...anything else I recon a 2 nil affair

The thing I fear mate is this ginger clogger becoming the new Jonas in the fact he will be played no matter how average to **** he is and will rapidly become Pardew's new personal wad receptacle.

I'm already resigned to it already....he's english too which already makes him a guaranteed starter so pardew feels less dirty about the foreigners...what pisses me off more is the waste of sissoko...for god sake he could be like yaya toure with the right guidance..

knowing that tiote & de jong are out for this game, I expect:

    riviere
    cabella - colback - anita - sissoko
    haidara - colo - willo - janmaat
    krul

and a 3-1 defeat to City

    --

    I'd wish for

    riviere - gouff
    aarons - sissoko - anita - obertan
    haidara - colo - yanga - janmaat
    krul

and try and take them for pace, particularly with obertan and aarons running at their defence, sissoko making late charges through the middle, and anita not allowed forward...

Pards won't risk anything more than one up front. UIt will be damage limitation from the off.

Think with the summer signings and Man City players being injured or potentially off the pace, this could be our best chance of beating them under Pardew. So I'm going for a 2 - 1 win.

You expect us to start with 10 men. Bold stuff from Alan if so.

No he just prefers Obertan. I expect no less given he anticipates us starting with 10.

CBRAD - Isn't it nice to find a cricket team more weak willed than ourselves? The indians have taken the fall guy role to the extreme. Bravo.
