    he's a player that's come up from the amateur / non-leagues - rather than straight out of an academy and loaned down.

    two senior German international caps, for friendlies though
    statistically rated as the 3rd best defender in the bundesliga a couple of season back
    still fairly young for a defender (25)

    so as a young fringe european international he fits the NUFC recruitment policy to be fair...
