Couldn't care if he's 13, what a prick. You made your bed, now lie in it. I hope he gets a ton of abuse and nobody buys the shirts.
Everything that is wrong with the whole corporate football industry neatly and succinctly encapsulated in a single non-story. As much as the kid deserves a good kicking, the mother is worse. Pandering to the whims of a young boy like that. Daft tart.
It's not the kids fault. Why the hell did the dad buy him Newcastle gloves when the family support City?
Funny that we wouldn't be saying the same if some hull reds changed allegiances to their hometown club and decided they're really city fans. It depends how long the dad and brother have been man city fans, if it's the family team then fair enough he should always have supported them and his dads a monster for allowing anything else to happen. If his dad and brother recently got into football and chose city because they're rich as **** then it's time to get the black widow catapults and Carmine's dogs **** out.
Fair enough it is outright stupid what he is doing and is a bad thing for football. But you want a 13 year old to get a ton of abuse. Get a grip.
When I was a kid (7-9) I "supported" Man Utd cos everyone else did. My dad was having none of it and refused to take me to Old Trafford, him having always followed Hull. We started going to Fer Ark in 1993 (I still claimed to support MUFC) and we got season tickets in 1995/96 (relegation under Dolan) but by the end of that season I was a City fan. I never watched United once during that spell and I suppose in retrospect it's easy to dismiss this as a kids first foray into a sport but I do get a bit embarrassed about how fickle I was as a kid. I would like to think when I have kids I'll take them to see their local team (Stourbridge Town FC) with some big treat every now and then to see Hull City AFC in the Champion's League or title decider against Chelsea or something but local should come first. This lad should have a Wrexham shirt on his back.
Supporting Newcastle with Mike Ashley as owner and Alan Pardew as manager would try anyones patience. He should have taken a rain check re the Toon. 100% a plastic.
