The only news I can offer is the Pavilion in Ladbroke Grove have fixed the flush on their Thomas Crapper.

This was a stones throw from my Granddad's Peabody flat and where we would go before a game. A good pre match pub if you don't mind a 15min stroll down Wood Lane before kickoff.

Why post a thread asking for alternatives then?

The British Queen and The Coningham Arms have both been refurbed fairly recently.

Nice pub. Sometimes a long wait to get served.

You should give it a go on Saturday, neilm831.

I wouldn't really say that was Ladbroke grove! it's a good 15 minute trek if your on foot.

You've never been in there when the fishmonger's selling his stuff then!

I've never been tempted mind. I'm a real cynic and reckon it was some chancer with a white coat on, so I baulked at paying a fiver for some cockles.

Fair play mate, I stand corrected, not too far from Ladbroke Grove is what I should have posted.

My mum's side of the family are from ladbroke grove and I spent a good part of my youth there, sadly all the old school decent boozers from the grove have been turned in gastro pubs now.

I think the pav is probably one of the last left albeit further a field :(

I have not had a pint at the Pav for a good year now but it was still OK then.
