Why sign him when we got Mavrias as the squad player? the way mavrias has look in pre-season I rather give him the chance.
That's what I find strange, I guess Mavrias is gonna be loaned out. But I'd have preferred Mavrias to play more
Thats what pissing me off pal. why sign him as a squad player when you already got one this signing it must mean Mavrias is gonna be loaned out or get sold. the lad has look very good in pre-season to.
Scocco didn't work, we lost no money on him. Nowt wrong with that. Bridcutt has been here six months and not done it yet. Too soon for me to write him off.
A curious question massive.. Why do you only go onto thread where you are usually negative? Not often we see you on some of the many other threads.
We did lose money on him & I seen enough of bridcock to say he will never make it here. I said this when we signed the lad to.
So was I negative on the Rodwell, Micah Richards & Rodriguez threads like? no because they are good players.
I'm not having all the people writing off Bridcutt mind, lad came here short of match fitness and into a team doing absolutely awfully. And to boot he hadn't played in the Prem before, a very difficult situation. Would be unfair to judge him until he is fully settled
because he can cover both flanks, giacc is injured, who do we have? + mavrias is not in the first team squad yet
Giacc is only out for one more week. I think we sign Borini so that be him, Giacc & maybe some games wickham may play there. right side will be Johnson, may play Larsson there & I would give Mavrias ago. the lad has look good in pre-season.
Keep him fit and you could have a very good player for £2.5m. Never know how players are going to step up but he has a bit of skill and pace about him and can stay wide beat a man and cross or cut in from the right and is capable with his left. Problem is, despite his playing stats saying he's played over 100 games in 3 years, a 1/3 of the are sub appearances in the last 20 minutes or so when he's been returning from injury and probably a good 30 of the games he's had to come off either injured or as a precaution. He I injury prone and his hamstrings are the issue. He's constantly getting little niggles in them and keep him out for 3 or 4 games before he comes back and plays in 2 out of the next 4 before missing a couple more. With him being a winger and his pace being his main attribute, it's a big risk as if he does proper damage to his hamstrings he could potentially lose a lot of his threat. As I say, a decent signing if you keep him fit, but it's a bit if. Think that's why Brighton took the money. Can re-invest that £2.5m in someone who will play the majority of the season rather than waiting and hoping he remains fit.
Well if you paid a bit of attention to what Gus has said about the numbers and positions for his squad then you'd understand.
Exactly Bri, Gus knows and has stated what type of squad he wants and the numbers for each area, he couldn't be more open about his plans and he will live or die by his decisions so we should trust his judgement. After all he did a job last season
I've never known a manger show his hand so much, there shouldn't be any questions regarding what positions need filling as he's told us already, It's a good system, I love his confidence in his own ability. I trust him cause he knows his onions.
Jeez Baz, you don't give these young lads a chance! Don't you think Gus's opinion counts for anything?
