I take it, unless a player becomes available. Maybe Leeds and Byram if they become ready to sell for a lower price?
Don't mind not getting in another RB, but if they're the end of business we're still desperately short of quality at CB and on the wing. Hence, I'm choosing to believe that they are not.
I would only bring in a winger on loan or if he is really really good. We got Jay back in a few months, so Jay, Tadic, Davis and Isgrove etc for a season. Then we have Rowe, Sims and Hesketh all pushing for next season.
There still seem to be some floating winger links - elmohamady, sincliar, biabiany, lulic All could probably do a job. First and last can also play full back.... Point being it seems like a winger is still on the agenda. More concerning is potentially only bringing in the one CB. Perhaps Koeman is fine with Jos as his 4th choice but I hope not. Links to VVD have gone quiet (for everyone) which is a shame But perhaps any potential VVD transfer (to any club) is more contingent on the Champions League than Forster was
I don't mind a loan. But Tadic, an out-of-position central mid and Isgrove for six months isn't very appealing. That said, it's not paramount. Getting a CB above and beyond Gardos is. We simply cannot go into the year with Gardos/Fonte/Yoshida/Hooiveld as our options if we're expecting to do anything but leak goals. Leaking goals in our first year wasn't fatal because we were fairly free-scoring...I don't think that we can count on that again.
Yeah. Gardos could well be really good, I have no idea, but either way being one injury or suspension off Yoshida playing isn't what we want.
I agree, that's why I said either really really good or on loan. I see no point on buying a average player that with end up being nowhere near starting next season.
Hull apparently going to bid £14m for Welbeck as Long's replacement. Stating the ****ing obvious but if this is true why weren't we going for Welbeck instead?
