If you are English then why are you so favouring the Scots? I'd love to see them fall flat on their faces either way. I'll laugh if Salmond loses and laugh if he wins and leads them to ruin.
OK maybe the fact that you are in England you don't get this. We have people in Scotland who will vote NO because they don't like 'nationlism' which they equate in this case, as indeed TMT just did, with being anti-English. The NO camp plays on this and allows the use of Nationlism to be misconstrued in this way. Knowing you as I do PNP I am sure you will now understand where I am coming from.
Sorry TMT that deserves a I live in Scotland. Why do I live in Scotland? because I think it is a better fairer & more open country than England sadly is. I didn't come here for the weather I have been here 8 years in that time I have met and spoken to 4 government ministers, 6 MSP's and 2 MP's. The government is far more accessable than Westminster. and as people who visit will tell you the people have more time for you and are more friendly.
Hey chaps this thread has really gone off topic. Can I suggest we start a sticky "Political Rant" thread instead of this? I'm serious by the way. Not tongue in cheek.
I am largely responsible for all the politics on flaspurs thread so here is a thread to post the politics on.
Probably on the West Ham board. Maybe Millwall, as Kellie Maloney was one of their candidates, though she couldn't spell Britain correctly, unfortunately: please log in to view this image Putting the emphasis on two words so that it looks like your campaign slogan is 'Barking Britain' probably isn't the greatest idea, either.
I don't want an independent Scotland. Hadrian's Wall needs too much renovation work. But an independent Merseyside - there's an idea
I assume you mean independent as in a lot further away from Manchester? As in pushed out into The Irish Sea somewhere?
Hey it could happen. The wonderful EU gave Kent to France as it is technically part of Pas Nord Du Calais now. Beggars belief!
Been out of the country for a number of years and following from abroad the Scottish independence referendum. Surely there isn't much chance of it actually happening is there? Surely not many would vote to shoot themselves in the face and ruin their own country just because they hate the English. Sports bragging, etc, I understand- but not many would endanger their own livelihood just out of spite would they?
Before union with England, Scotland had no electricity, no cars, no TVs or running water. Some people couldn't even speak proper English! Now thanks to England, a few Scottish cities have these amenities and some people have learnt English! England... good for Scotland!
