I watched the World Cup game where Fernandez got injured and he looked a cultured footballer until the injury. The commentator did say it looked a nasty one.

Yes I remember it, and it did look nasty, but sometimes they look worse than they actually are, anyway he would have to complete a medical!...........<ok>

Phil, I also recall reading that apparently Gomis had better monetary offer/offers elsewhere?

Well that just goes to show that Monk can indeed bring in top players, and lets be honest here, the Premier league is the real seller here, as players want to play in the best league in the world, they want to compete against the best, and we offer them a gateway they would not otherwise get with the more established clubs. Four seasons in the Premiership? I have to pinch myself sometimes, that is twice the time of Toshacks boys!..................<ok>

Well it's obvious they haven't come for the legend that is Gary Monk <laugh>

Of course we're a good entry level Prem Club.

Yea that is obvious, but we know that he isn't a deterrent also.

Gomis, Gylfi, Montero, Emnes, Fernandez (soon hopefully) seem as good as any signings in the last two years. Of course we will have to wait 6 months or so to see if they fulfil their potential.

He is clearly a quality player, but I'm not getting my hopes up until he's got through the medical. That said I'm not going to lose my **** and go into doom and gloom mode it doesn't come through even if it will bugger as at the back at least for now, which seems to be the standard reaction to anything going wrong these days.

I would say Garry Monk's signings have eclipsed Laudrops!.................<ok>

Dunno about that, laudrups signings kept us up and won us our first major trophy. Hope you are right tho, but it would be difficult for any manager to top our 2012/13 season! Laudrup is old news and so are his signings, can't everyone just move on and get behind monk!

How deluded are you <laugh>

Most of Monk's signings were scouted initially by The Great Dane. Monk has simply hung on to Laudrup's shirt tails. Can't blame him for that, obviously hoping some of Laudrup's greatneee will transfer to him. He's got a long wait though. :emoticon-0105-wink:

Not while the Monkettes still slag off Laudrup.
