Has this club learnt nothing from the past few years?? Yet again we have not got in early enough in the transfer market to secure good players that we need in several positions!! instead yet again we are trying to pick up the scraps remaining!! And surprise surprise what do we need more than anything? yep a proven goal scorer...this should have been the top priority.. And please NO more ex chums from Salisbury!! Imo i think that unless we sign at least 3 good players we are looking at bottom half table finish at the end of the season.. We need goals!!! and at the moment i cant see where there going to come from? the exact same situation we were in last season and the season before that!! I have no confidence in DC what so ever but i hope he proves me wrong.. he will be gone before Christmas..
We'll be fine. There are some encouraging signs and when players like Monkhouse and Brunt get fitter we'll make a big impact. Could probably do with a couple more players, but from what I've seen they look ok. DC's recruited some decent players for this level and they look pretty solid. I'm sure the goals will come too.
For myself I've predicted a bottom half finish around 14th I think we will finish Saturdays game is a must win game just get our seasons up and running and if we lose well then I don't what to think
The real Rovers as we all know it or did know it has been suffering from a rare disease called (Higgs and co) which over time causes death by destroying from within and can be known to take many years to completely destroy its host. On occasions the host can show hints of recovery but these are normally false promises!! including Stadium syndrome... which gives a glimmer of hope for a while but this soon dwindles away like the closely related syndrome called MFNP short for money for new players! Unfortunately most host don't recover from this awful disease!! I have read somewhere that there is one possible cure! and that is to inject a new board in to the middle of the host and completely remove the old... I hope this operation is available soon.....
Thank the F7ck, reality is now being admitted to rather than oh we must give em a chance hymns continuing to be sung. Its been and gone and needs halting now. We have put up with this crap for to long. We are in the sh&t big time and those at the top know and like the Titanic Captain are not prepared to accept the blame of driving us headlong into oblivion. As an aside and this shows the sh&te we are really in we may have a few new faces on board for the game against the Big Boys from Altrinham (where the bloody hell is that) loan players from the mighty Man Utd, dont ask is it the real deal or the Mighty Mangos as Geoff would say. Judging by DC's little black book he aint got too many decent contacts so more non leaguers ? Possibly but hey WTF do I know. Bristol Rovers possibly the best Non League Football Club in the World. If only at least that would be an improvement. Yes I am f&cked off and justified in my observations, when I am proved wrong I'll be delighted to admit it, I think it'll be a long long time before I slap NH on the back and say "well done pal you extricated us from the mire" Followed by why did you put us there in the first place.
I'm as disappointed as anyone else who has written on this thread, but I see it as a massive wake-up call to everyone involved with the playing staff. We saw the danger signals with the friendlies and now reality has taken over. If the guys who matter don't get their fingers out now I will be very surprised.
It is just two games in. It's been **** admittedly, but I'd rather wait til 10 games in before I write the season/team/club off completely.
Every year I read on forums "don't worry it's only 2 games in" then a month later it's only six games I would love to dream we will smash this league but I'm afraid with the players we have brought in I can't see it Div 2 players to win conference div 1 players to win div 2 We have a handful of quality players it will be a long old season once again The board will keep a low profile for months Watch this space
No I think first they will be gunning for DC. Seriously though I would have thought MS would have had good contacts after playing for a number of highly rated clubs and could possibly pull a favour or two. The pirate ship is listing badly, yet the balance seems right. We have MS coaching the kids and the strikers, DC coaching I assume the midfielders and overseeing traing full stop. SY coaching the defence and ironing the kit what is going wrong? Is Paul Trollope employed yet?
Looking at Barnet's goals it seems that the same problem was exposed as in the Grimsby game, we can work the ball forward very well, but have absolutely no finesse in working the ball into the opponents box; subsequently meekly giving the ball away and suffering counter attacks. DC and MS need to use their experience and contacts to sort this out ASAP. Unless Higgs has good contacts with someone like Ronaldo and can persuade him and pay him to join our band of warriors, I find it difficult to find Higgs to blame! Otherwise he should stay out of the way, like all good chairmen, and let his selected personnel sort out the problem as they are the so called experts in playing matters and he is not!!
