http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...layers-in-desperate-attempt-to-cut-squad.html Redknapp's eyes will be gleaming Andros Townsend in the 'Arjen Robben' role for the 3-5-2 Austin/Remy on the last shoulder and Townsend with the free reign to pick the ball up, drift out wide and generally take people on.
I would love to get him on board, however not at the expense of Remy. We would be desperately short of pace in the side if he was to move on, Assaidi could be a cheaper option who also has real pace but might not do as much going the other way
lol Harry you listening !!! Is he cleaning out for financial reasons; or to start bringing in his style of players ? Anyways, hopefully we can benefit
It is a mystery isn't it. He may only be there because of the existing speculation about a Remy swap and at a guess he would be only be available for this deal specifically unlike the others. I may be one of the few who would actually support HR in making such a deal - bear in mind that Remy will likely still be on his bike because of the contractual arrangements and we would be getting a high quality known quantity in Townsend. We would then need to up the Ante on Deeny of course...
I thought Harry and tony said there'd be only 1 more permanent transfer and a couple of loans? take your pick folks coz your can't have them all!
There was another poster on another site shouting that we dont want Townsend. His view was purely based on Stats and apparently Andros' are terrible. Something like 2 goals in 30 apperances and only a couple of assists all season. i cant be arsed to go find it but I wash Flyer was here to check it...(anyone) All other posters were saying we want him for his work rate, skill, attitude but this guy was adamant that he was "all show & no go"! Could be the reason they want rid, i mean what did he actually do last year? anyone?
Forget Deeney, Leicester rumoured to be smashing their transfer record to get him on board. They've apparently got a £100 million kitty to stay up...
Here you go. I think he was using this: http://www.whoscored.com/Players/71522/History/Andros-Townsend 3 goals and two assists in 30 (+20 sub) appearances.
I'm with DT on him, he looked good for us for a few games, but the rest of the team apart from Remy were dire, so that wasn't hard. He's very predictable. We already have 2 players of his type who might turn out alright in Phillips and Hoilett, can't see why we'd need another. Certainly no way I'd swap Remy for him.
Me neither. Looking at those though I was surprised to see how little he'd played for Spurs last time out. His record in the dozen games he played for us beats anything he's done at WHL so far.
