Reflected overnight and if Ron thinks Shane is the right man to partner Peele then so be it. He'll run all day long (see what I did there) and will pick up all the knockdowns. Could be a great double act.
I hope we go out and buy a good number of top defenders because sure as hell we aren't going to be scoring many
Given the size of our transfer kitty, this would be like finding out that your wife had managed to get your house on that old show Changing Rooms then coming home to discover that all that's happened is your sofa's been moved and all the walls have been painted beige.
We're not exactly going to be adopting a big man/little man 4-4-2. We can live in hope, but I really doubt we'll be signing another striker in this window.
Yet. The window isn't shut for nearly 3 weeks, and as someone else posted, we may have got Long in to fill a hole before the season kicks off. Who's to say we won't get another striker in as well as Gardos, another defender, and a winger?
I'm with you Chilco. Lets stay positive. Only a couple of weeks ago we were worried we werent going to spend any money now we are spending too much.
Just checked out his stats and, er... well, whatever. But, I did find out he used to play Hurling, for Tipperary. So he probably has stitches in his face.
Just on Remy, I agree he would be a good signing, however, his release clause is not as low as people think. QPR inserted a very clever clause in Remy's contract whereby top four teams would only have to pay £8.5m (about the fee that QPR paid for him), but others outside the top 6 would have to pay about 16m. Although money isn't an issue for us, 16m is high for a player who may not want to play here.
Sorry mate but it's confirmed on Official Hull City twitter. Hull City AFC ‏@hulltigers Hull City accept Southampton's £12.5m bid for Shane Long http://bit.ly/1sUtIp0 #hcafc #thetigers Sorry fellas, that's not the official twitter. My mistake.
From what I remember of that programme, that would be a result given the ****ing mess they generally used to make of people's houses.
We want a strong squad. When Jay is back and add Lonfg and who knows another before the window closes and we will fibnally have some strength in depth up front.
It's all jolly down St Albans way right now. And a season ticket is £150. And you can go see all of Harpenden Town's game with it too.
Sounds good to me. I can get a Frendo shirt and I can still sing "Oh When The Saints". Also I'll buy a Harpenden Harpenden Harpenden mug.
You'd have nothing to complain about though. Be very dull. Look at the entertainment (pain) Saints have given you this close season.
I hate to disappoint, but I've never seen one of those mugs. They do exist, obviously, but I wouldn't know where to buy one. Here's a website with a few classics: http://www.harpenden-history.org.uk/page_id__149_path__0p1p52p.aspx I actually have the first one, with the church on it. This is my favourite, though: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Harpenden-Batford-Joke-Mug-Blue/dp/B00F8FG1L4 Top Harpenden humour.
