Playing 3 center-backs he will get plenty of opportunity to show that he is Premier League class.

What a load of bollox.......Ned on the Left, Caulker on the right, Ferdinand/Dunne/Hill in the centre of the back 3.....Dropping down the pecking order, don't think so.......

An un-named source, speculations a-plenty.......this is not the work of a journalist unless he is bored......

There again I could be completely wrong........

Ned's happy at QPR, Harry wants him to stay. Where's the story?

I'm under the impression that Onuoha is very happy here and has plenty of friends in the club. I don't think he'll move, especially after getting promotion with us.

Given the alleged identity of the OP I was expecting to open the thread and see a picture of an octopus.

Given the ages of 3 of the 5 centre-backs, and that we'll be playing 3 out of the 5 in each fixture I really don't see game time being a problem for any of them. Bit of a non-story for me.

" Fulham, Crystal Palace, Swansea City and West Bromwich Albion are interested in QPR defender Nedum Onuoha, as are clubs in Turkey, Goal.com say.

It is claimed that Rangers boss Harry Redknapp wants to discuss a new contract for the 27-year-old but that Onuoha could look to move on amid ‘uncertainty’ over his role following the recent signings of Rio Ferdinand and Steven Caulker.

A source is quoted as saying: “Nedum is happy at QPR and figured prominently last season, but he won’t accept sitting on the bench this season, and he knows there is interest elsewhere.”

This is exactly what I was worried about when I heard we were brining that carthorse Rio in. Hopefully it's all bollox. But wouldn't it just be typical QPR to replace one of our longest serving, best players- with an aging expensive has-been with no loyalty to the club. Harry's been banging on about how fantastic Rio + Caulker are all pre-season, I'd just hoped behind the scenes he was assuring our true #1 CB of the safety of his position.

Are we really preserving Rio Ferdinand in brine? New one on me, and the RSPCA may have something to say about pickling a carthorse in a salty liquid, but if it keeps him fit.......

I can take Remy going to Chelsea or wherever but not Nedum to Fulham. I can't believe he is not one of the pencilled in centre backs of the three. If he is not your effectively saying hill and Dunne are better options. Which they are not. He has the ability to be a quality premiership defender for at least five years. The other two don't. Here's hoping its rumour and nothing else.

    Very overrated
Has pace but positional play is questionable. Always seemed to need the experience of Dunne or Hill beside him last year. Was average at best when he played last year in the championship. He regularly wasn't selected when fit to play. Why?
Why so many on her rate him so highly is beyond me. He's no longer a kid and has IMO underachieved over the last few years.
He doesn't look comfortable with the ball at his feet and this is essential with a back three.
When you'll at the Prem and international experience ofRio, Dunne and Caulker you realise very quickly that Nedum is set to warm the bench AGAIN this year. Let him go and buy or develop better.

Not sure what you were watching last season NUTS, and obviously did not watch the friendly with PAOK, because if you did you would know that we will be annulated by any team with pace playing Dunne and Ferdinand in the same team. Ned has to start against Hull otherwise, regardless of what strikers we have/don't have, we will not get anything out of this game.

There was me thinking it was just me?

Having said that, I think he has pace and is great at tackling and of making the recovery tackle of which we witnessed in the play-offs and the final. However with the ball at his feet he is a liability. As seen week in week out and especially in the final which lead to Gaz O'Neil getting sent-off. Hopefully Rio and Hoddle can help him with that part of his game. For now though he shouldn't try to play the ball on the ground. Thinking back to Swansea at home on the opening day two years ago is evidence of this. He hasn't improved in this dept. since.

He should do what we were told at schoolboy level... Pump the ball up ten yards short of the 18 yard box angle. That way all the forwards and the midfielders will not be surprised that when you're on the ball in defence of where it's going to go. The rest of the side can set themselves. Even if we don't win the ball we are set up to deal with it and the same goes for if we do. At least it's not within shooting range of our goal. How hard is that?
