I hope he carries forward his form and attitude from last year, neilm831. Granted, it's a bigger challenge this year.
He will always get into trouble, it's in his nature No doubt he will have his moments that will be blown out of proportion as it is Joey but let's hope the good outweighs the bad.
If I was Redknapp I would be planning on not having Barton available for at least 25% of games. His habit of picking up booking nearly every game (mostly for stupid challenges rather than anything violent) shows no signs of abating and he'll whiz over the points tally in short order.
The trouble is Joey's playingstyle. It's from the 80's when referees did not gave the yellow cards so easily. He might suffer 2-6 matches because of that but what the hell he will be worth of it.
I was impressed with our Joey's much improved temperament last season. I can't help but think Barton is a marked man due to his history of flair up's/reputation and will most likely get at least one red card. Not only will the refs have zero tolerance to any Barton aggro but players will be trying to wind him up and provoke him which we all know anyway. So it's a big no from me but would like to be wrong on this one.
