Were we linked with him a couple of months ago? Perhaps we made enquiries initially that got leaked and then we've stepped it up again due to necessity (perhaps Remy is going or others such as Iceman 2 have stalled). There might be some small element of truth in a lot of the names we get linked to...? Seem to recall he was pretty good but not instant first team material so hope Remy is staying and this guy takes the fourth striking position.
I was told that French Ligue 2 isn't a very good level perhaps Div 1 so may not be a great guide of the player. Not sure if anyone can confirm that ?
Ray Wilkins said he played in Ligue 3 with PSG reserves and it was awful. Most European second tiers are poor in comparison to our Championship...
Isn't he going to Charlton? We were linked a few weeks ago (as was mentioned) but he wasn't keen..considered ligue 1 standard in France and scored a hatful in ligule 2 last time out. I wondered if he has a confidence issue - bigger clubs were in for him but he wanted to stay at a lower level.
