This was discussed at the fan meeting last night, it's the peak of the holiday season and that makes chartering aircraft very difficult and very expensive. We've been unable to secure the plane we had for the Trenchin game(it's not available on the dates required) and currently we've hired two small planes, which can take less than 200 people between them. The majority of fans travelled to Zilina under their own steam and are expected to do the same for this one, particularly as there are more travel options to Belgium. I don't think the teams agree the prices, they set their own and the home game will actually be cheaper than the away leg(though nowhere near as cheap as Trenchin).
They could have applied for travel yesterday, Thursday is when they can apply for tickets regardless of how they want to travel.
Season Ticket holders got those tickets. They wouldn't have gone to anyone, now I don't know how the breakdown went of those that went to Trencin but I know some used SportOptions so would likely used it again. There are people who have booked travel in advance and hope they get a ticket. The likelihood is everyone who deserves a ticket should in theory get one bar the odd one who may not. Every club, unless they're regulars in europe, use an external contractor for things like this. The club could ring up a travel agency themselves but it's probably easier and cheaper to hire out someone. It is as a fair as possible as you have to say to those people booking that travel you will get a ticket otherwise what's the point?
Just had a chap from Sports Options call me. I had a bit of a go lkast night about them snaffling tickets for their flight. Nice bloke. I ended up apologizing. They are using two aircraft for Lokeren, it's all they could get. Total they are taking is about 150 with 90 on one + 60 on the other. They are trying to get another aircraft but they are like gold dust at this time of the year. He said they are not making any money on the trip because of aircraft costs. Probably true. He says they are just trying to make an impression with the club. They will be looking for more opportunities with the club. He did say when it comes to the group stages the aircraft will be cheaper as it will be out of the holiday season. Make of it what you will.
After watching hotel availability for twin rooms plummet in Ghent last night, just before midnight I booked a room for £74 with free cancellation at the Ibis Centurm. It really hurt my principles, I hate doing it as I would feel guilty if, I took up a room that someone who had a ticket in their mitts needed. My only thought was that if me and my mate do get tickets, then I don't mind sharing a room but I am not sharing a bed!!! Selfish I know, but self preservation comes to the fore.
many appologies if this has already been posted, I havent got time to look. http://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/Euro...tickets-KSC/story-22521348-detail/story.html?
No patty, no one cares about Lokeren. It's not as if it's the dominating topic with about 5 threads already titled about it.
That's some increase, booked mine last week for £96. Can you still transfer flights to into someone else's name so they can use the ticket instead? Would be quite willing to do so to let another City fan have the flight if I don't end up getting a ticket, would save them £100-£200.
Immediately after the fixtures were announced, you could get a flight from Manchester to Brussels for £40 return.
I know its a bit of a long journey but the megabus goes from Leeds to Gent for about £40 each way. takes about 16hours mind but if anyone is a bit short on cash then it's an option. think it gets there about 5pm
Probably the most out of the way one, it was actually my daughter that was checking online, rather than me.
Apologies if this has already been covered but how are the tickets to be sold on Friday? Is it an application form or a queuing at the ticket office job?
thats a decent price, assuming you can get connecting trains to lokeren and back to get to hull? costs £100 return to glasgow if you buy them on the day
