Hull City are delighted to report record-breaking sales of the Club’s brand new home kit since its launch last Wednesday.

A staggering 1,900 shirts where snapped up by Tigers fans in the opening two days of sales, a significant increase on last year’s sales when the Club sold 1,440 in the space of a full week. The first two days of last season’s launch saw 698 shirts sold, meaning sales have doubled in the same time frame. Over 2,500 2014/15 shirts have been sold to date.

Tigers fans, decked-out in the new amber and black shirt, packed the KC Stadium last week to see their team secure a 2-1 aggregate victory over FK AS Trencin, a result which sets up a date with Belgian side Lockeren in the UEFA Europa League Play-off Round.

Marketing & Online Commercial Manager James Mooney said: “We have been really pleased with the figures to date. Tigers supporters have really got behind the design and our renewed partnership with Umbro – a brand that is steep in football tradition whilst embracing modern football trends.

“The away kit is up next and we are confident our fans will continue to demonstrate their support for the team by donning the new black strip.”

The new Umbro home kit can be purchased in person from either of our Tiger Leisure stores which are open until 5pm tonight or online at www.tigerleisure.com. Shirts are priced £39.99 for adult sizes and £29.99 for juniors. We also have infant and baby kits on sale, while our new home goalkeeper kit is also in stock.

I ended up with one, but I would never have bought one myself.

    Great news!

Perfect example of success on the pitch generating more income for the club.

How many shirts were ordered and shipped out to asia? ;)

In a few short posts this will likely change into a badge argument though...

I'm not sure it is, I think it is more a case of people have had to wait longer and with such a short time before our first game people felt they had to buy one in the first two days. They have only sold 600 since, whereas last year they sold 698 in the first 2 days and then more than 700 over the rest of the first week.

    They have manipulated the figures.

I don't really think so, it's a much better kit(with a better sponsor), it's hardly a surprise the sales are up, there's only really the badge that might put people off.

Think the away kit is far better than the home kit and as a bonus black is very slimming !!

I do think the late arrival of the kit, and the Europa league matched helped, but success of the team is a big factor. I was out shopping with the Mrs on Sunday on Kingston Retail Park and must have seen over a dozen kids in City tops and none in any other teams. Can't imagine that happening a year or two ago.

I totally agree, it's great seeing kids with City shirts and that is down to the success of the team but I don't think that is why we have sold so many in the first few days, like you say it is because of the timing of the release. If we sell more this year than last then that will be down to mainly the success of the team, followed by as OLM says the nicer kit and not having Cash Converters on the front. The kids will most likely get them at Christmas, the end of season figures will tell a better story on how well it sells.

If it had a badge with our name on you could argue this is our best home shirt since 1978. It's alomost the perfect City home shirt.

    Almost.

Hopefully the club can see that adults don't want jazzy **** with flashy gimmicks and lishtening bolts down the side or ****ing whatever. Make it a classy affair and they'll snap it up.

This is the first year you can buy our kit at http://www.worldsoccershop.com

Yesterday we were on the front page, today its like the 6th picture that is scrolling. Considering they have tv advertisements during basically all games in the US its a big deal that we finally have things for sale on their website.

Puzzled by the shirt craze? When did this all start (serious ? when did it get popular to start wearing your teams shirt). Lucky to have one grey shirt to go to school in never mind a fancy footy shirt to go to watch City.

Bit ridiculous when you think back to the amount of twisted knickers on here when they released your new crest.
