Gutted to hear about this. It always seems worse when its people that you grew up with watching their movies over and over again as a kid.

Always seemed a genuinely nice guy, hardly ever in the media for the wrong reasons (I can't remember anything if I'm honest). Great actor and a very very funny man.

    Big loss :-(

I can't get my head round it. We all have **** happening in our lives sometime but to kill yourself you must see no way back. I always think of Frank Sinatra song Pick Yourself Up when I'm down and for some reason its works

This has shocked me as much as Jacko, and even more so the fact that it is apparently suicide. It just goes to show you that it doesn't matter how much you have in this world it means nowt in the grand scheme of things. It's so sad that he has felt this the only way out despite having a loving wife and countless other people around him who would have given him all the time in the world.

A man goes to see a doctor. Doctor asks what seems to be the trouble. The man says, "Doc, I'm depressed. Simply, I can't sleep sometimes, I can't eat, I feel down and irritable most days. I just can't feel 'happy.'"
The Doctor says, "I've got the perfect fix for you. In town tonight is the great clown Pagliacci. He's hysterically funny and will make you laugh til you cry. You will experience a joy unprecedented."
The man bursts into tears. The doctor, confused asks why. "Doc, I am Pagliacci."

Who's the one that makes the clown laugh?

    RIP

The guy is a despicable twat. It amazes me how many people still dismiss mental illness and come out with ignorant crap like Alan Brazil did there. Totally agree with you BRS - hope that's the last we see or hear of him.

Was shocked last night when I heard this news. Always came across as a genuinely nice person. Such a tragic end. R.I.P.

Alan Brazil's opinion? All that guy is interested in is where he get get a freebie drink from. Deserves no respect at all

RIP Robin Williams. A tremendous talent that will be sadly missed.

To me his best performance ever was Patch Adams. If that film doesn't cause a tear in your eye, then your not human

Alan Brazil is normally rat arsed pissed as he stumbles in at 6am tp 'present' his radio show, wandering in aimlessly from whatever wretched drinking hole he has been holed up in. **** the fat bastard - now and forever.

Some of my favourite Robin Williams performances:

The Birdcage (beyond hilarity, has me in tears laughing)

    The Fisher King

Dead Poets Society ( A truly brilliant movie)

    Good Will Hunting

Mrs Doubtfire ( Think I will probably get emotional if I watch it again, particularly the 'Don't take my children from me' scene.

Dead Poets society and Good morning Vietnam.
Utterly sublime performances and both brought emotion to my door, I ain't afraid to admit it.
