Well it looks as though his bridges are now firmly burnt unfortunately.
He's actually down the Back Page tomorrow at 6pm for a meet and greet with fans if anyone is interested.
A new video has popped up on Youtube which showcases some of his best moments for the Toon.. and of course reminds us what could have been had he had the right application and of course the right guidance as for me the blame has to be a two way thing.
Enjoy folks... it's not often we see players like this...

Has talent to burn but the fact he is a lazy bastard coupled with being managed by an incompetent moron means we will never see the best of it. Shame.

Is anyone going down to the back page?
    What would you ask him?

Hatem the poor misunderstood talent who only wants to play his best and is loved by all the fans, or Hatem the cynical multimillionaire who understands how to milk the most out of a bad relationship between the fans and the club.

A real shame as he is a match-winner when motivated.

I honestly believe that the amounts of money these players are getting, at such a young age, is evaporating their ambition.

You have to marvel at players like Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi who continue to apply their great talent time after time.

I mention those players because I think with more motivation, Hatem Ben Arfa could have been scaling similar heights.

    I would ask him...Why ??
Pardew has totally failed his job as a manager here - he hasn't managed !
Thats said, from HBA's prespective, he gets paid ridiculous sums of money to play a game that he loves, where he can showcase his talent in front on 10s of thousands of fans singing his name.... what the **** is he thinking.... sometimes footballers dont know they are born to be honest !

Must say I can't agree this.

Pardew managed HBA singularly well on his return from injury and got him playing probably the best football of his career. This included playing him where he was most effective, right wing, and not the number 10 role.

The charges against Pardew, as I have been able to understand them is that he asked HBA to track back and that he incorrectly substituted him on a handful of occasions. I don't understand how the first charge can even be criticism. Even if the second one is correct (about which you can argue) how on earth does making a few incorrect substitutions cause a player to put on weight and lose interest in playing a team sport ?

I'd say thank you for giving me real excitement in a bleak time for our club. Maybe he needs an arm around him all the time, he's so good he's worth it. Genuine question, would Keegan have froze him out? Keegan would work wonders with him

No way of knowing how HBA would have reacted to Keegan.

He may have been infected by KK's enthusiasm and been willing to run through a wall for him. No one would freeze out a motivated HBA.

Their personalities might have clashed and HBA might have thrown a strop, in which case I would have expected KK to freeze him out.

He doesn't need to run through walls, you sound like that Moyes tart. Keegan would not freeze out someone like HBA, he'd make him the main man. KK was all about attack, We played 3 strikers when nobody else would dream of it

Keegan could motivate anyone - I think with HBA would have thrived under him. Mainly because he'd have just told him to go on the pitch and do what he does best and leave the defending to everyone else. HBA is a lazy bastard, but I didn't see the silver sodomiser complain when he was pulling off miracles the season we finished 5th.

HBA is a lazy bastard and probably hasn't helped himself, but that useless twat we have in charge should take the blame as well. Singling him out to try and cover up some of his tactical shortcomings is bollocks. With the attacking talent we have at the club now we have no excuse for taking the bull by the horns in most games. People won't tolerate a repeat of last season and definitely won't tolerate boring defensive football.

Put him in the right formation and give him freedom and he's a very useful player. To bad Pardew is a stubborn arsehole who expects everyone to be good defensively and wont cater to anyone.

    I agree

pardew has played his card so he won't have anyone else to blame this season.

That said when he's fired he'll be spouting off that he didn't have enough say on transfers.

I would say to him bide your time, because Pardew will be sacked before Christmas. This is the man who bigged up Huddersfield, who got pumped off Bournemouth. He knows nothing about football, tactics he thinks they are a mint sweet.

Surely Hatem deserves better than a **** rendition of Ed Sheeran's already diabolical song from the end credits of the second Hobbit film?

I can only imagine it being the grumpiest meet and greet of all time, all it'll take is someone to make a fat joke and he'll be off in a huff.
