    Good Day to you all,

So what do you folks do without any football on at the weekends?

Do you take up watching a new sport? Or do you play a summer sport? Or is it a time to work on the house and garden? Could it be prime-time for the stamp collection or model railway to come out of storage?

Personally. I like to travel to castles, battlefields and churches and take pictures of them as the sun rises? It is a hobby which brings about the most amazing feeling of serenity and keeps me sane whilst waiting for the season to come around again.

Just interested to know. Cheers. COYR.

Recovering from Friday nights usually <badger>

If the cricket is on I will watch that, same for baseball in the evenings. Otherwise it's being dragged around the shops by the missus, or having a lazy Saturday in a beer garden with friends (weather permitting).

Sounds like a slight waste of a life, but I'm having fun <party>

Interesting hobby Ponders, .... sounds rather committed.

Down in oz here i am rugby league mad, follow that as closely as ever.

The seemingly unavoidable shopping adventures with the missus like mentioned here.

Sleeping till 11am on sundays after a few johnnie walkers, or sampling one out of the scotch collection, been purchasing random single malts and whiskeys and trying loads out.

Basically, with my football team CAFC and league team here, im completely wired given their performances and exploits on the pitch ! Lucky to be sane actually.

    Where is A2C then ??

formula one most weekends! boxing fills a gap - Hayes gonna knock the crap out of him this weekend.

other than that, start rock climbing up again. there's a good climbing wall in charlton.

To be honest, I fill the Charlton-shaped hole in my life by watching season review Videos/DVDs, trying to find every clip of Charlton I can on Youtube, and basically watching every bit of football I can, including the Russian Premier League on ESPN. Oh dear...

A bit of cricket is OK, but there's no way I can watch an entire match.

As for Formula 1, don't get me started. The dullest 'sport' around if you ask me.

Duller than a game that can last 5 days and still not produce a winner?

I would argue that watching a bunch of guys drive around a track for 3 hours, seldom overtaking each other, is more mind-numbing than cricket.

they've changed F1 so that there's more overtaking. The race before last had 86 overtakes compared to 1 the year before.

Drink a lot, although that isn't restricted to the weekend if anything more the opposite and cricket.

As far as Haye goes I hope he gets beaten black and blue!

They have tried to make Formula One more exciting, but Hamilton is constantly bashed for his aggressive nature on the overtake. It doesn't make sense.

As for cricket, I understand why people don't like it as AHLL said, 5 days of play doesn't always determine a winner. However, the thought process of cricket is something that has always interested me. A game of strategy and thought- for that, I love it.

There is a lot of thought in Chess, that doesn't make it a good sport or even a 'sport'!

Is the debate whether chess is a sport? Someone must be back deleting comments then...

I think the point is that no proper sport ends people's names with 'ers' like "Bradders"

Proper sports end names with 'o' as in "Carlo or Jacko or Benno" or 's' like "Brads' BUT NOT 'ers' that's just for cricket or tennis!
