I'm lazy as hell today given an early morning Gym hammering so there's the match info from nufc.com.....

Newcastle's eighth and final pre-season fixture sees

Spanish side Real Sociedad visit St. James' Park this afternoon at 1.30pm.

Tickets are on public sale now priced at £15 adults and £5 concessions and only the lower areas of the ground will be open.

    Pay turnstiles:

    Gallowgate middle - Blocks K, L, P, Q via 54, 55, 64, 65

    Leazes Middle - M, N, R, S - via 17, 18, 31, 32

In addition a further four turnstiles at the North West Corner will be available if required: 9, 10, 15 and 16.

Please note that in common with all home first team friendlies, Magpie Mover travel tickets are not valid for use on Sunday. However both the X40 and X50 Soccer Buses will be in operation.

As Magpie Movers aren't valid, these fares will apply:

After twice facing Athletic Bilbao on Tyneside during the Premier League era, it's the turn of their Basque rivals - who finished seventh in the Primera Liga last season.

Given the ease with which eleventh-placed Malaga beat us in Germany this promises to be an interesting test for United, with Sociedad winning 1-0 and drawing 0-0 last season in their two league meetings with Malaga.

The side from San Sebastian will become the first Spaniards to appear at SJP since Valencia back in 2008 and entertained United on home turf way back in 1924.

They begin their own domestic season away to newly- promoted Eibar on Sunday August 24th.

Sociedad are already playing competitively and kicked off their Europa League campaign with a 2-0 home win over Aberdeen in the Third Qualifying Round last Thursday.

They then recorded a 3-2 success at Pittodrie on Thursday night, thanks to goals from Xabi Prieto (2) and Markel Bergara. However that win came at a price, with striker Alfred Finnbogason dislocating his right shoulder.

Previous to that they warmed up with a trio of matches against Dutch opposition, losing to Ajax, drawing with Feyenoord and beating Nijmegen and 48 hours after facing Newcastle will play Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

NUFC: Cheick Tiote is doubtful with a hamstring problem while it's unclear whether Siem De Jong will be risked. Adam Campbell has joined Fleetwood Town on loan.

Real: A 22 man party will flew from Aberdeen to Newcastle on Saturday: Rulli, Zubikarai, Bardají, Carlos Martínez, Zaldua, Ansotegi, Iñigo, Mikel, De la Bella, Yuri, Elustondo, Markel, Estrada, Granero, Pardo, Canales, Zurutuza, Xabi Prieto, Hervías, Chory Castro, Agirretxe, Finnbogason.

Last season's top scorer Antoine Griezmann has joined Atletico Madrid in a £24m deal, while goalkeeper Claudio Bravo went to Barcelona for around £10m and striker Haris Seferovic to Eintracht Frankfurt for £5m.

Their biggest summer spend is Alfred Finnbogason, who joined for £6m from Heerenveen after topping the Dutch goalscoring charts last season. Newcastle were credited with an interest in the 25 year-old Icelandic forward.

Real also completed a permanent deal with QPR for their midfielder Esteban Granero, who was on loan to them last season. The Spaniard was in the R's side beaten 1-0 at SJP in December 2012 but failed to make an impression.

Not seen one yet, theres no TV coverage anywhere in the world so there might not be a stream.

Anyway, we have lined up 4411:

Newcastle team Krul; Janmaat, Williamson, Coloccini (c), Haidara; Sissoko, Anita, Colback, Gouffran; Cabella; Rivière

Siem de Jong sadly proving worries about his injury prone nature are well founded.

Tiote is the master of pre-season injuries. That team looks a little uninspiring... Cabella in the number 10 role will hopefully be a highlight.

For me so far, apart from the emergence of Aarons, the highlight has been Riviere. Not just the goals, although they are welcome, but the nous and unselfishness he has shown in the games he has played.

    This, this and thrice this.

I genuinely think we have a core of good to potentially very good players, but Pardews' dated methods will not get the best of them. Sissoko and Gouffran on the wings again in a 4411? A central midfielder and a striker? Has he learned nothing? Surely, with the players we have, we'd be better served using them in a 433 or 4231. His tactics hinder any freeflowing football that our players are capable of. Its frustrating, because like i say, i genuinely beleive we have some very good players, if used correctly.

Edit to add, this isnt just based on todays friendly.

The white kit is apparently for members only so we will have 4 kits in theory next season.

Same dross every week I expect and he'll be using the De jong tiote injuries as the reason, however it would be the same unbalanced side regardless. We simply need him gone which means it's got to get really bad before it would get better.

    No pass and move
    no triangles
    no nothing
Solid formation the man thinks he's playing chess from the touchline moving people around and getting nowhere.
The opposite sides can simply allow us position while they build the great wall of China in front of their goal and wait for us produce zone ****e cross then counter

Colback is a dreadful acquisition by the way.
    Janmaat is good
Cabella is not the same type of player and hasn't replaced Cabaye at all in the middle. He's Ben arfa for sure.
