Don't think he was ever actually on the table, in fact, I don't think he was even stood close to the table waiting for an offer of a seat.
Who knows mate, news has stopped on him, I think he wants to leave to play, but there's been no action
----------Vito------------ Jones---Wes-Kaboul---PVA --------Catts (c)---------- AJ------Rodwell------Chadli --------Wickham---------- Looks good fella, even with only 10 players
Hahaha, Twice I've done that, the missing man is Giacc alongside Rodwell. ----------Vito------------ Jones---Wes-Kaboul---PVA --------Catts (c)---------- AJ- Rodwell- Giacc---Chadli --------Wickham---------- It's cos he's little and that, keep missing him...
I actually think a loan is a very smart move in this case, even if Spurs refuse to stick an option to buy in (it's Levy, they're probably asking silly money). This is almost certainly the "plan B" Gus alluded to when talking about Fabio recently. So we have Nacer here for a season. A year down the line, Borini's value has halved, Chadli's probably increased to be fair, but that's not the point. If Gus prefers Chadli, we'll be in prime position to sign him assuming we have a decent season and he enjoys his time here. He'll probably still be surplus for Spurs, and will prefer a move to us where he knows the system etc. We can say to Levy, "look we want Nacer, but we can get Fabio for ~£7m and we know what he's about too. We'll give you <whatever we feel his value is>, take it or leave, or we're back in for Fab." Liverpool will probably be desperate to offload Fabio by then and we can say to them "yeah we're still interested but we really like the look of Chadli too. Tell you what, we'll take him off your hands for £5m?" And if they both **** us around we've had an entire season of scouting for other options - my confidence in Congerton is growing by the day personally. Gus has said we couldn't think about recruitment last year as we didn't know what league we'd be in until the very end, but I think we're all fairly confident we'll at least stay up this year. Gives the team plenty of time to plan for every eventuality. The club is wising up.
Kaboul man. He keeps popping up more than nzofbia. He's not interested in us is he .........???????????????
Some sense in there mate, but the issue is if Chadli does have a great season for us, given the current profile of Belgian internationals, will he prefer to come here? A great season would surely see bigger boys interested, and then we are ****ed, back to square one, with the option of Fabio at £5-7 million suddenly bringing half of Serie A into the equation.
I honestly believe Borini will soon be forgotten if we get off to a good start playing decent football. I'd love to get to the point, with Chadli and others, where we can turn our backs on Borini for good. He's not worth the money or the aggro I'm afraid.
It's possible, but then he would have to have had a cracking season and, you'd think, us also. So we'd have other options. What if Levy is saying £10m minimum for a permanent deal, we pay it and it turns out he's just not suited to the prem? I mean he didn't exactly set the league alight last year. I just think a loan is the most sensible option in this case, and leaves us in a decent position in all eventualities - he's ****e, send him back. He's decent, we can play Spurs and Liverpool against eachother and get either him or Fabio at a reasonable price (or look elsewhere having lost nothing and had a decent season). He's amazing and goes top 4 / stays at Spurs, well **** happens we look at other options or maybe go back for Fabio
If Borini doesn't want to come now i wouldn't go for him in a years time and tbh he probs wouldn't want to come then either especially as he would have alot more options in front of him...
