Played well, tons of effort but we looked weak as feck when Hyam and Skuse ( yes Skuse) went off. Murphy for me was grt, Tabb ok but the guy walked past him for goal and he is no set piece expert!!
Oh and i am mighty pist off with MM, why oh why did he not play 3 at the back????? I wanted Hoppers to have to run around Rileys naked!!
A much deserved win and a great start to the season. We simply wanted to win more and I thought we showed great energy and desire with and without the ball.
My thoughts. Agree Spanish - why the hell Tabb was on set pieces no idea. Did Fulham win 1 50-50 today!?!?! We won every single battle - again weirdly going to agree with Spanish - when Skuse/ Hyam went off we lost the middle. Tabb/ Skuse/ Hyam's workrate was all fantastic. Murphy/ Dids continue where there left off. Did we pass the ball well? NO. Did we at times play direct down the line? YES - sadly from Fulham's perspective it worked time and time again. We'll get a lot better than this also, played 1 won 1 performance I couldn't give a toss about but we're off and running. COYB!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mick summed it up perfectly afterwards,solid and organised,he's certainly made us difficult to beat-but what do you expect with four CB's,two DM's and a RB at RM and Tabbs LM.Great to see Didds back ,he really makes us tick and is the glimmer of creativity/entertainment in an otherwise very workmanlike team.Still, good start to the season- bring on the Budgies
Think that was all very much tongue-in-cheek. It's banter, you've probably forgotten. If I were you guys, I'd be pretty happy with that. Fulham started brightly, lots of possession, but little else. Good goals from you, Fulham waking up when the party was over (that always happened to me). Always liked MM, not surprised he's got you on the right track. Should be an interesting season.
And at the same time we were knocking over the Indians at Old Trafford. After an awful summer of sport,Andy Murrays defeat at Wimbledon excluded, it's great to get ones mojo back.
