Good going forward but very short of confidence in the box. Got into some good positions but seemed to bottle it at the last moment.

Quick but a bit clueless, get some confidence into him and hit a few shots and he may be a useful impact sub. Not a starter yet.

Poor match I thought, and I thought we looked a little unorganised and off the pace really. We finished strongly, but were toothless up front and Yoshida was dodgy at CB.

I was surprised how enormous Pelle is. standing next to Wanyama, wanyama was dwarfed in height as well as width!

Been at the game as well, thought Bertrand looked a very good replacement for Shaw. Yoshida played ok but still not filling me with confidence, Davis was brilliant I thought, Tadic looked good 1st half never really noticed him much in the 2nd half but I was up the other end and opposite side. Gaston and Taider came on and looked very lively, quite excited by both of them. May get shot for this but I don't think Pelle is going to get me too excited, gives away loads of freekicks from his aerial challenges (probably because hes so big) 1st time seeing him today in the flesh but his 1st touch was carp. Mayuka like other ppl have said got into some good positions then came unstuck when it came to a decision with what to do with the ball. Hopefully couple more in the mix and we should be fine next season.

Isgrove looked ok , got taken off just after the break. Tried taking his man on quite a lot getting the crosses in.

Wanyama and Fonte were the best two for us today. So happy Jose stayed <3

I think our strength this year will be not conceding, like a Stoke but with a lot more flare and technique. But scoring little as we have such little options up front.

Isgrove looks sharp but not strong enough, will struggle against physically stronger full backs. I'm not sure about Pelle either, I don't know if he's cut out for the Premier League. The Dutch league is very different, quality is no where near the same. Would be a great fit for a Championship side. Hope I'm wrong though!

He has pace, and skill but at this level he is going get a lot of "mistimed" knocks and would be risky in a fantasy team.

    Just got back, my thoughts:

    - Looked okay, seems to be more focus on wingplay than under Poch.

    - We need some reinforcements up top, Maya wasn't great but I would happily start with him for more firepower. If Mayuka is our attacking option off the bench then I'll be worried.

    - We were a bit dis-jointed but that's to be expected from a team that"s had an overhaul.

    - Was personally very impressed with Taider when he came on. Very calm and composed on the ball and a good tackler, could end up being a great bit of business for £7mill.

    - Wasn't keen on the Pelle signing when it happened and wasn't overly impressed today. I'm willing to give him time but am skeptical at present.

    - Tadic looked good in patches but a few wayward passes, could be incosistent, but that's typical of a winger.

    - Love Jose, seems to love the club, great choice for skipper, top man.

In summary, thought we looked good in patches and will improve in time. I think we should have enough to stay up but very worried about where the goals are coming from, paticuarly in early parts of season with our more winnable games and no Jay Rod.

    Up the Saints <ok>

Was the own goal suitably comedic/slapstick?

Oh and thought Isgrove looked decent, full of confidence but a bit lightweight. Looked alot better than I thought he would be though.
