Full time 1-1. Maybe not a bad result, but a chance missed nonetheless, Harriott's miss proving crucial. Some positive signs at least. Look forward to hearing from those who were there.
Watched it on line Bees edged first half we were better second half ventokle Gumundson decent solly was solly thought Bikey ok missed Morrison
Typical. I'd have pretty much taken 1-1 at three o'clock, but I'm gutted now. Sounded like a good first game for us, and Vetokele and Gudmunsson sounded fine. Solly and Bikey both turned in good performances too. I've heard less than good things about JJ and Buyens though. A better start than last year at least, and like the Captain, I'm looking forward to hearing from those who went.
6/1 winner for you!! We didn't look half bad being honest. I think BP needs to work out his best 11 still, but we looked full of life - which was a step forward from last season. Brentford edged the first half, which is no surprise for a promoted side, but we grew in to the game and had the better chances. Vetokele was good value for his goal, and when attacking his movement around the box was better than we've had in years! He may just well prove me wrong if he continues.
Good result. Did better than I expected. Smith has been a thorn in our side over the years. Bring back Wilson and Morrison and we will have 90% of a team. Good that Moussa must be nearly fit.
Is Morro carrying an injury...? For the life of me I can't understand why he aint first choice CB As for Wilson, he was one of very few bright spots of last season. What's people's take on the Romanian...?
So, Charlton draw the first game of the season, away from home, against a team that would have been keen to impress in a higher division than last season. A decent result and by all accounts, a reasonable performance although having gained the lead, it's always disappointing not to hold it to the end and come away with the win. But still, I reckon if we were offered 1 - 1 at 3 o clock most of us would have taken that. Onwards, ever onwards. The League Cup and Colchester await. The last time I saw us in a cup tie against them was at Layer Road in the FA Cup where we soaked up 88 minutes of pressure and then nicked it when Stuart Houston (ex Man Utd) shinned an embarrassing OG past his own keeper to give us a 1 - 0 win we didn't deserve. I'd take that this time round.
